In all fairness, as far as humiliating the president goes, Trump did most of the heavy lifting...

So far, subby, so far.

Ooo man the burns on Twitter right now, he's gotta be crying in his cheetos. Taken from his latest tweet thread:

She did what every other person in Congress should have been doing all along?

2019-01-26 08:19:03 AM
For years now, members of Congress have divided on whether Trump is strong or weak, whether his political success shows an intuitive tactical genius that needs to be respected or a hollow showman who connects to conservatives but is easily flummoxed.

In other news, some members of Congress are not clear on whether water is wet and routinely have to be restrained from eating their shoes because "it might be food this time."

I was lukewarm to the idea of her being speaker again.  I wasn't really excited about her but nobody else really came to mind either.  Pretty clear to me now that she is still more than able to do the job.

Hey subby, he still has 2 years left to deal with her. I predict her handing his ass to him a few more times.

We'll see how much everyone loves her when she smartly waits to impeach until it's painfully bipartisan.

Yeah. Basically, Nancy did a no frills, stock standard congress-critter's job. But it was really impressive because thus far no one else was doing their jobs.

As long as he keeps watching Hannity on a loop Trump will be reassured he won the shutdown, built the wall and has the most nuzzleable grundle o'er the land.

I love it. She'll give him no quarter but she won't begin a proceeding until Trump is almost begging to be put out of his misery. Crushing 2020 from the top of the ticket down is the goal. They don't want to give the GOP any time to regroup. I think things are going swimmingly.

Much like McConnell, she isn't going to make a move unless she's sure she has the votes.

The GOP has been in charge for 2 years, and has barely anything to show for it except chaos because of Dynamite Monkey.

Pelosi has been in charge of the House for about three weeks, and she's already brought Trump to heel.

It's not that hard to say "no" and mean it. The vast majority of current Congress critters are just PUSSIES.

It's nice to spike the football here, but you know the only result of that is going to be Trump's promised "February Emergency" is going to be a gigantic goat-fark. I'm glad she kicked his ass, but his response is going to be the same one that you get when you kick a 6th-grader's ass: revenge. He is going to be less reasonable, more demanding, and he's going to punish as many innocent people as he can to get even with her.

A win is nice, but rubbing his nose in it won't teach him anything (he can't learn), it will only make that burning sensation of shame so strong he can't do anything other than burn the house down to teach his mom a lesson.

Watch and see. You ain't yet seen the depths of selfishness, stupidity, and cruelty that Trump is capable of, especially when his feelings are hurt this badly.

To be fair, one of my dogs thinks shoes are edible as long as they are leather, so these members of Congress might be at least as smart as my dog.  Oh, she also licks her ass a lot.  Am I helping?

The decisive out-maneuvering helped even though it's easier to outflank a person intent on shooting their own feet.

Telling a bunch of moronic garbage what they want to hear is no strategy if it pisses off everyone else and makes it impossible to make deals and reach accommodations later. A strategy is all about threading the needle between telling the human trash what they want to hear and keeping your other options open. All Trump has going for him is that he doesn't give a fark about long term issues and lacks the shame or morality to tone his rhetoric down.  Any idiot can get a mob of idiots riled up if they stopped caring about the consequences of doing it.

That's a fair point, but he needs McConnell and the GOP Senate on his side.  Considering how this shutdown went, Trump's not likely to keep them United unless the public perception drastically changes

It continues to be amusing that you think the actual dotard Pelosi had anything to do with it.

We really need to be careful about being so mean to Trump.  He is a rich white man.  He is just not used to people not telling him that everything he does is right and all of this criticisms might shatter the delicate crystal bubble that surrounds him.

It would be funny if he hadn't just demonstrated that he can wreck the country with a tantrum.

That's been the problem with the GOP in general for years. When they lose they start hurting people out of spite. Of course the other problem is that when they win they start hurting people because they think no one can stop them. Making them lose is better because it limits their power.

How did Nancy do it? She knows what her job is, it's that simple. How did Trump fail? As usual he doesn't know what his job is, it's that simple.

Good: Pelosi is counting on it.

2019-01-26 09:36:22 AM
The GOP is spending so much political capital on this bigly unpopular wall, and of course the Dems should allow them to keep doing it.

But they should also come out Monday with something of their own. I'm thinking bills on popular ideas like healthcare or, my personal favorite, legalizing weed on a federal level.

Show that they're actually interested in governing and delivering legislation that will actually improve our lives. It would draw an even starker contrast with the clowns in the GOP.

When the Speaker's "race" was going on my girlfriend was asking me why it was such a big deal.  She doesn't follow politics but the R's were using Pelosi in ads for some of the local (Houston area) Congressional races, as in "Vote against the D because they're a Nancy Pelosi Democrat!"  Told her that Pelosi has been a target of the right for decades because she's a "San Francisco liberal", but she would wind up Speaker because 1) nobody had the balls to take her on and 2) she get shiat done.

When Trump's shutdown surrender was on the news last night I pointed to the screen and said "That's what I meant.  Nancy gets shiat done."

Careful Dems. Trump just knows that the next caravan will be arriving in 3 weeks, where he'll be able to declare a national emergency and seize the funds. Thankfully he'll bungle that too, but we're still in for more self-inflicted wounds.

Trump's ego won't be able to handle this defeat and he is the very definition of spite. The entire country may have to burn to satisfy the blow to his malignant  narcissistic ego.

We deserve everything we get. Hopefully we can learn from this.

This.  All she had to do was call it a "Trump Shutdown" at that fateful (I hope) televised meeting, and he flew off the farking rails.
