What do you mean? Two on duty male officers coming to the home of an off duty female officer, and then accidentally shooting her in the chest because doesn't everyone handle firearms while sitting on the couch during totally normal not at all weird meetups? That sounds weird to you?

Which cop rule gets priority here?

Do the "cop killers need to be brought to justice and sent away for a long time" or do the "officers who feared for their lives "need some paid vacation while we sweep this under the carpet?"

2019-01-24 05:24:19 PM
The two on-duty officers -- both described only as 29-year-old white men -- met Alix at the apartment.

A little role play action and someone forgot that a gun is not a farking toy.

Two male on-duty cops meet up with a female off-duty cop at an apartment just before 1 AM and one of them gets shot? I'm not buying the "Woopsie, gun went off" defense here.

My guess is that it was an execution because she had either just found out something that her bosses wanted to keep under wraps, or was dangerously close to finding it; and that the two male cops in her apartment had failed at the "make it look like a suicide and/or an accident" part of the job.

/that, or "booty call gone wrong"

I'm sure the thorough pending investigation will reveal she actually shot herself, which will resolve that conundrum.

2019-01-24 05:26:59 PM
She was either blackmailing them and they put an end to it, or they were blackmailing her and she wasn't willing to play ball.  No way this was a "Hey look at my BANG!...oops..."

That's probably what's going to happen. Even if it was an accident by a trained officer, someones dead and he's going to jail for it. I'm as curious as to the details as anyone because wtf happened, but this is just terrible all around.

It doesn't smell less fishy if it was his apartment, or some random apartment that they broke into.

Smells like the department or these two cops covering up something the slain cop was discovering. This is an execution.

Well, let's see...

Shooter is a cop, victim is a cop.  That's a wash.

Shooter is white, victim is white.  That's a wash.

Shooter is male, victim is female.  Paid vacation it is.

Damn, I hate to jump to conclusions, but it would be difficult to come up with a believable scenario that was more sketchy than this.

No matter the outcome it's a sad ending.  I have a daughter the same age, so in my mind this was less a officer being shot and more like a kid being killed.

I don't get that. I used to do a lot of shooting with my dad at the range and it's not easy to shoot a gun. By not easy I mean like how you can't change the ring tone on your phone by sitting on it a certain way. The safety has to be off and it has to be chambered. Ok, we can assume he was a moron and that was true. But unless it's cocked with a hair trigger, you have to put some effort into firing it. I don't know how guns just "go off".

Cops usually have one in the chamber with safety on. His might not have been? Why would his gun have been in ANY kind of shooting position to accidentally shoot a fellow cop in the chest is a most interesting question. Why wasn't it holstered for farks sake...? etc etc etc etc ETC

Either way, I agree with most here in regards to there being a whole lot more to this story...

One of the articles said it was the home of one of the male cops. Also, she was shot by a gun that was not a service weapon.

Oh, that's...interesting. I think I'm gonna step away from this story for a few days because this looks like one of those stories that will have details trickling out slowly, both accurate and not.
