In other words, reading through the article, the shutdown hasn't affected them, yet. Sure, they're some family and friends in the military they said could be affected, but it's not affecting them. So fark you.

On one hand the shut-down is hurting people and negatively affecting the US economy, on the other hand, it is hurting people.  Tough call.

Cut them off. Completely. You don't want government? You don't want taxes from Blue States?

Wow, have I got a deal for you!

In dozens of interviews with Craig residents about Trump, none brought up theMueller investigation into Russia's  interference in the 2016 election and possible influence on Trumpas a concern, and several laughed at the big-city media's obsession with the shutdown and White House turmoil, which includes multiple high-profile departures,  including his chief of staff, defense secretary and U.N. ambassador.

make me some tea: Pardon me, but I DGAF about these people any more than they GAF about me.

Let us recall that most of their infrastructure has been built with tax dollars from Blue States and from blue areas of Red States.

Their hospitals and schools? Built with federal tax dollars from the 30s to the 60s.  Really. Everyone should look this up.

Their electrification? Rural electrification was paid for by the cities, who already had electricity, obviously.

Their roads? Post offices? Sustained by tax dollars from blue cities.

For 30 years, they have demonized the cities, starved them, choked them, and told all people living in the cities that they were corrupt, immoral, un-American, and have been racist, misogynistic, and homophobic. The vast, vast majority of people who have been against universal health care, equal rights for women, and gay marriage have been rural folks.

And they still have "Liberal Hunting Permit"s on their bumpers.  These are the people who have fueled the "Silent Majority", the "Moral Majority", the "Tea Party" and who are now MAGAts.

They actually believe that cities are the moochers and they are the providers of wealth in this country.  So cut em off.  It's what they have wanted for 30 years.

My well of sympathy has run dry for these people after 2016.

Oh and let's also not forget they have constantly voted to reduce their OWN tax burden while mooching MORE tax dollars from Blue States...

I have always believed that what America needs

freer ostracism to remove the native born.

But don't even think of dumping them over the borders.

"I don't need the government" he typed on the internet created by the government using electricity provided by a government-built electric grid on a computer delivered on government-built roads while eating a sandwich that won't kill him because the government inspected the ingredients.

CRAIG - A Craig man with a history of attempted murder charges had his bond set in a Moffat County court Thursday, Jan. 17.

Dustin Jackson, 32, was arrested in March 2018 on several charges, including two counts of felony criminal attempt and two counts of attempted second-degree murder related to a domestic violence incident. According to a warrantless arrest affidavit, Jackson and a woman were staying at a hotel in Craig. When he awoke, he reportedly became agitated with the woman and slammed her head into the passenger window of a car...

According to the affidavit, Jackson has reportedly hit the woman more than 50 times and attempted to strangle her about 12 times...

Jail staff said the only way he would be able to safely appear before a judge was restrained, sedated, and unclothed.

https://www.craigdailypress.com/news/justin-folley-former-moffat-county-high-school-teacher-coach-acquitted-on-child-sexual-exploitation-charges/

Moffat County High School teacher and coach Justin Folley...

"As to all counts, we the jury find the defendant not guilty."

Folley was charged with 10 felony counts of sexual exploitation of a child based on evidence that he allegedly elicited three nude photographs of a female student over the course of a sexually explicit text message exchange and that he sent her a video of himself masturbating.

Each alleged image had three charges attached to it; two class 3 felonies and one class 6 felony. One charge was brought on account of the alleged video. The sentence per each convicted class 3 felony could have ranged from four to 16 years in prison.

The exchange of sexually explicit verbal text messages between Folley and the victim - who was 14 or 15 years old at the time - was more than evident: jurors reviewed 30 pages of screenshots of those messages describing sexual acts he said he would like to perform on the victim.

But those messages contained no direct evidence of images or video, and as the defense reiterated during jury selection and throughout the trial, it is not against the law for an adult, even a teacher, to send messages of a sexual nature to a minor, so long as those messages contain words only and not images...

Folley elected not to take the stand

April last year

About 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 18,Moffat County High School Principal Kyle York received an email from the parents of the out-of-state suspect. The email included an attached letter written by the student describing a shooting he and another student planned to carry out at Moffat County High School on Friday, April 20...

"It (the letter) was detailed enough that it put it on a very heightened threat that we needed to deal with immediately; then, we worked on it through the night, met early in the morning to make sure that the school, staff and everyone were safe," York said...

The plot against the school had been planned for Friday, the 19th anniversary of the April 20, 1999, massacre at Columbine High School in Jefferson County.

I've always found it fascinating in a sick way, how the same folks who scream bloody murder about an American flag being burned seem to care absolutely nothing about trashing all the things that flag is supposed to represent. It's a symbol. It's only meaning is the one these people are actively shiatting on.
But don't you dare harm a thread on it. Not in front of them.

I've said it many times.  The US is the only place in the world where you can say "Well, I don't know anything about (the subject at hand), but I think..." and that intro will actually give the speaker credibility and weight behind their words.  Everyone will perk up and listen. "Quiet people, listen - this guy is going to say something and he admits ahead of time he knows nothing about it."

Conversely, you could say "I studied (the subject at hand) for 20 years and..." and the response would be, "Oh, go f$ck yourself you elitist nerd - we don't give a shiat about what you have to say."

Americans are not unique in bigotry against immigrants.  We have issues in Canada as well.  You are familiar with Flanders Fields (the poem) and Canadian war hero and historical icon, John McRrae who wrote it?  Anyways several years ago, his medals and other war memorabilia went up for auction.  The fear/expectation was that it would be purchased by someone outside of Canada and it would leave the country.  Arthur Lee (a first generation Canadian) paid $400,000 for the memorabilia and promptly donated it to a Canadian museum.  Some first-gen immigrants or more Canadian than most Canadians.
