Will it really matter at all?

I'm sure Donnie will be quaking in his boots over this.

Of course this does set the stage for impeachment if he's eventually slapped with obstruction charges.

This matters a lot, it is obviously a legal preface to an obstruction charge (Read: Trump can't claim he didn't know/wasn't warned he was intimidating a witness)

Also this. Very this. He will of course lie and claim he wasn't anyway, but since the warning was in the form of a public statement to the entire nation by the heads of 3 Congressional oversight committees, ain't nobody gonna buy that BS.

That being said, I don't give a whit about the obstruction next to the goddamned treason.

If nothing else, this shows what a low life piece of garbage "Judge" Jeanine Pirro is.  She calls her show "Justice" and goes on and on about how she used to be a judge, but she let her BFF Trump blather on in a blatant attempt at intimidating a witness.

I guess "justice" is just for the demon craps, right Jeanine?

Trump, during an interview with Fox News's Jeanine Pirro, said Saturday that Cohen was planning to give information to Congress "to get his sentence reduced."
"Well, there is no information. But he should give information maybe on his father-in-law, because that's the one that people want to look at," Trump said.
"Because where does that money - that's the money in the family. And I guess he didn't want to talk about his father-in-law - he's trying to get his sentence reduced. So it's pretty sad. It's weak and it's very sad to watch a thing like that. I couldn't care less," the president continued.

That alone would have been enough to raise the specter of impeachment prior to Trump. I feel like we as a nation are the proverbial frog placed in water that has slowly been heated to boiling. We've been overdosed with absurdity. When someone asks "how much worse can it get?", I cringe because we're probably about to find out.

I mean, sort of. But the obstruction is Trump trying to interfere with the investigation into the treason... obstruction is intrinsically secondary in that it wouldn't exist without the primary crime.

And the primary is an absolute whopper. "Lying to investigators..." is a tallow candle next to the million candela arc lamp of "... about being a filthy traitor" both in terms of seriousness AND in terms of pure emotional revulsion/hatred it inspires.

In this case it is actually valid. According to official protocols, "Judge" or "Justice" are titles that can be kept after one is no longer actively serving, similar to "Senator", "General", and "Ambassador".

The ones you are not allowed to keep are titles of a specific office that someone else currently holds, like "Chief Justice", "Governor", "President", or "Secretary"
