I dunno, I feel like this is a quasi-defensible excuse.

I've used Barracuda and got away with it.. It was still on when he walked up.

/Told me to keep it under 15 over and be careful, didn't even check my license.

Well, it's no "Freewheel Burning", but whatever works I guess.

Totally get it.

"Hammerless Nail" and "Staring Down the Gift Horse" by New Bomb Turks always makes me do naughty things in a car.

2019-01-10 09:53:10 AM
Also damn near anything by Zeke.

2019-01-10 09:53:24 AM
I did this exact thing driving late night from Santa Cruz to San Francisco.

I told the cop I was listening to some rock song, I believe it was Meatloaf, and i got into it and he totally let me off.

Wanted to finish the trip and get out before the talk-box guitar bit, I'm assuming.

The talk-box guitar bit, regardless of the song, always sounds stupid.

It's a kickass song, that's for sure.

I have a playlist like that but fewer songs. The one most likely to get me in trouble is Machinehead by Bush.

Same here Barton Fink! The cop asked "What song were you singing to?" And before I caught myself I sang out "You are my special angel..." He had a big smile and let me go with a warning. Phew.

When I was 16 I would do this to Black Sunshine.

AKA the "Red Barchetta" defense.

2019-01-10 10:01:08 AM
"You're Goin Down" by Nashville Pussy. Have to speed. A lot.
"Sacrosanct" by All Pigs Must Die.
"The Hateball is Rolling After You" by Genocide Superstars
"Burn 'Em Down" by Halfway to Gone
"R.A.M.O.N.E.S." by Motorhead

Some stuff in my "gotta go fast" playlist. Don't get yourself killed.

Let me show me H here. When Sammy Hagar came out with I Can't Drive 55, that song got me in trouble frequently.

I can relate.

I've been pulled over for rocking out to a song, still got a ticket.

Is $600 a typical speeding ticket cost in Canada?

It worked the other way too...

/still pull Standing Hampton out on occasion, good album

Hit the speed governor on my 86 Grand National listening to Kickstart My Heart way back when. Didn't get caught, did get some action later that night from my date, who was screaming the lyrics as loud as I was.

Jesus Built My Hotrod - Ministry
and
farked Up Ford - The Reverend Horton Heat

are my two "danger" songs when I comes to speeding unawares.

When will people learn... you cant out-run bad music.

You have to change the station.

I have that problem with AC/DC. The longer the song goes on, the harder I push the gas pedal.

All of Full Moon Fever and Jesus & Mary Chain's Automatic should be automatic grounds for exemption.

As stereotypical as it might sound, my worst (best?) ticket ever was for 137 in a 75 out in the desert in Nevada, and I was listening to Radar Love at the time.

/That was a very very expensive ticket, but a positive experience, as weird as that is.

He could have just turned the radio off, rather than try to outrun it, but I understand the fog of panic.

kyuzokai: Ministry

I am forbidden from listening to Ministry while driving.

/Then again, I drive a minivan now, so it is not as much of a problem as it was when I had my RX-8

Good defence except for one thing
A) it's manitoba. A place where you can see to the edge of the horizon. May as well allow higher speeds than they do
B) how in the hell do you not see a cop in Manitoba? That's like missing one in Saskatchewan - you see each other three hours before you meet

Lol, love the reports when they show up in KMh.  OMG, 145??!!  Wait, that's only 90 mph?  Pfft.

Make sure to buy a Mötley Crüe t-shirt. All profits go to getting this guy out of jail.

It's Canada, so he was probably all fired up about this cool new song.

2019-01-10 10:21:49 AM
This song and Surfing With The Alien are my pedal to the floor convertible songs.  Almost hate to hear them come up in the shuffle this time of year.

Only 50 days till spring!
