Isn't the Dem 'caucus' of state AGs around 27 or so? Hopefully it gets traction and others get aggressive (via twitter).

Between the guy holding traffic up on the way home doing 20 below the limit and the last couple days of political bs I am going to need a liver cleanse.

voluntarily is the only way he can be recused.  He should consult a lawyer though.  Just because he is A/AG now - doesn't mean he could be charged with obstruction of justice by a future AG.

What sort of legal trouble could Whitaker find himself in if he doesn't recuse himself? Assuming we actually have a Senate and SCOTUS that cares about such things.

I am going to get a depressed laugh out of Trump tweeting tomorrow that all these Attorney Generals just proved they have to recuse themselves now that they've proven they don't support law and order.

Recuse from what you ask? Recuse in general, possibly someone will give him the bright idea this means none of these states are allowed to bring state level charges should the Mueller investigation be forced to follow that route as a result of federal pardons.

The Zen Philosopher Basho: [markmaynard.com image 515x394]

Still just beggars belief that he regularly calls for violence against his enemies and a good chunk of Americans love him for it. If we didn't know it before, we know now that Americans (not all, but some) can stand toe-to-toe with the worst people history has ever produced.

Among his other accomplishments, Trump will hold the world record for the most standards of decency shattered in a modern democracy.

Stibium: FNG: I doubt he will voluntarily recuse himself.

I mean, Comey was pretty confident that Sessions didn't have a choice: there are in-house lawyers at DOJ (obviously) that review these issues and will give a professional write-up of the vulnerabilities of a position and advance a position on whether someone should recuse themselves.

The real question is if the question of Whitaker was put to them yet and what they recommended (and it is possible though unlikely they did review it and clear him before this decision was made). But hey: anyone who doesn't agree that Trump should be able to advance this guy to the top of the list for being a brown noser who has advocated for the president being above the law must be with the Deep State, do Whitaker can probably just fire them without issue.

Republicans have made it abundantly clear that given the choice between power and morality, they will chose power.

Nice sentiment and all, but this will accomplish nothing.

"State Attorneys General" is right.  There are multiple attorneys.
When you refer to them by the abbreviation, the plural goes at the end of the abbreviation.

I don't think trump is going to care...but the rest of the GOP did just get a very firm and loud reminder that they are NOT well liked or popular right now.  so maybe they'll decide to just NOT support trump any longer.  I know, right?  stranger things have happened.

Attorney is the noun. General is the adjective. The correct plural is Attorneys General, just like brothers-in-law.

However, when shortening a phrase into a acronym, the rules change and the acronym is treated as a whole. Thus, the abbreviation of Attorneys General is AGs.

"State" is collective. It modifies the plural "attorneys." "General" also modifies "attorneys."

"Attorney general" can be thought of as "general attorney." The modifier in this case follows the noun it modifies.
