Maybe he should have been shilling for the other Democrats running... because two doesn't exactly do a damn bit of good on a Supreme Court.

Black man with a high school education. I'll let you do the math on political prospects in the realm of old white men with legacy degrees

Sounds like a slam dunk to me.

Yep. If there's one thing Americans love and want to hear more from right now, it's rich elderly men from sheltered wealthbubbles. I personally won't even let anyone open their mouth at me unless their last name has a hyphen or ends in "III."

That math works out pretty well for LeBron considering there is only one thing that matters in politics. Don't kid yourself.

Wrong kind of money. Contracts are finite and dry up. There's a reason no lotto winners are in politics.

LeBron is now a Hollywood producer, in addition to everything else he's doing. Since he's not a farking asshat, that should be good as a gravy train for a really long time.

1. There is no such thing as a "Wrong" kind of money. Only amounts.
2. Well, I'll let these guys point out what should have been obvious to you to begin with:

Neeek: LeBron is now a Hollywood producer, in addition to everything else he's doing. Since he's not a farking asshat, that should be good as a gravy train for a really long time.

Hillbilly Jim: It's cute you think he "only" has contract money.

ElwoodCuse: Michael Jordan isn't a billionaire from what the Bulls paid him

LeBron has the fame, support and the ass-ton of cash to make as much of a splash in politics as he wants should he ever choose to go that route. Not saying that is a good or bad thing, just that it is fact.

There is a billionaire celebrity in the White House right now. Imagine if someone fitting that description and who was actually well liked made such a play.

A lot of (older, whiter) people seem to have totally missed out on the fact that rich black entertainers have been leaning hard into entrepreneurship, sponsorship-ownership and investment for like decades now.

I'm not a businessman. I'm a business, man.

Ohio is officially a rapepublican stronghold, the only exception is EC for the POTUS.

Outside of the larger city limits there is derp as far as the eye can see.

As an Ohio native (that voted a straight Democratic ticket), I don't honestly think his endorsement or campaigning would've helped. There is still a lot of resentment over him leaving the area again, it was more expected this time for sure and he wasn't an ass about it like last time but still he's the hometown hero that abandoned the hometown because it wasn't big enough for him.

Don't get me wrong I understand the guy and his choices, likely would've made the same if in his position, but it's a deep wound that got ripped back open and it's still pretty fresh and tender atleast in northeast Ohio.

For the record, Chris Dudley (not a guy by that name, but the former basketball player) ran for governor several years ago. He was a joke, and lost to a crook, but he did it.

Listen... I appreciate that LeBron isn't silent like most athletes, but let's not pretend that the guy is Colin Kaepernick. He's not Michael Jordan, but he's not Magic Johnson (who, sadly, seemingly gave up on doing the public a solid once he got his antidote).

Would lose the Ohio vote.

/I thought Green Bay was salty when Favre left, but 10 years later and Ohio could still be used to salt the roads for the upper midwest every winter

He's more qualified to hold public office than any Republican.  At least he's an American who isn't owned by the Russians.

Everyone knows odd numbered Kims suck.  Wrath of Kim was great, but the Search for Nukes was just stupid.

And no professional athletes have ever overcome that. I mean Jack Kemp and Bill Bradley went nowhere, right?

And although he is only peripherally involved in politics, Magic Johnson seems to be doing well now that his contracts are over. So's Kobe, and he also lacks a degree.

If he ran today? Possibly. But we are talking about something he would do after retiring from basketball. When his career will be viewed in its entirety and he will be best remembered as the man who brought a championship to the most beleaguered sports city in the US.

Wisky gave Favre a standing O when they retired his number, didn't they? Same situation with LBJ post-basketball.

Same here, was surprised she won given how the Gov race went. Didn't know about the LBJ thing when voting for her.

Christ... he's simply congratulating someone who won.   Why you would possibly try and twist that into something to criticize him about is just a reflection of you, not him.
