Per this article, which has her picture (sad), Hong died Monday (Nov. 5) evening after the bus hit her around 6:45 p.m. at Charleston Road and Huff Avenue in Mountain View.

This would never have happened if California had not "fallen back" the day before.  I blame the time change from Daylight Savings.

Looks like a wide flat intersection with good visibility, so I'd guess either she or the driver or both farked up pretty badly.

/it isn't clear that she was on foot at the time

If she was on the bus I don't think this would have happened.

I was already careful around the dirverless cars (I don't trust them) but now it's the Google busses, too
