If financial sector shareholders are that worried about Maxine, it doesn't show. The S&P Financials index is up this week.

It's down slightly over 2018, but it's nowhere close to giving up the returns of the Trump rally.

If it were me, I'd look at Trump's old mortgage company. For funsies.

Back on Wall Street, they didn't exactly squeal, but they saw this coming a mile away. A few made a big show of huge bets on the GOP keeping the house, but back at the office they hedged those bets, I assure you.

Any impact Maxine might have on the banking sector has been priced in over 2018. She'll be an inconvenience to them at worst. Weighing more heavily on their minds will be the speed at which the Powell Fed increase interest rates.

It'll be great theatre, though, that much is certain.

Good. Stick it to the bloated orange from every angle on all sides.

Roll all the Republicans up into a disgusting ball and chuck it into a bottomless pit forever.

Thanks.

The firm that is at most risk, at least initially, is Deutsche Bank, which isn't in that index.

You guys are seriously over estimating what the house alone can do.  The Senate is firmly in Republicans hands and most of the never Trumpers are gone.  The GOP Senate at 54-46 or 55-45 can stack all the major committees with republican majorities.  The house can propose whatever they want, its dying in the Senate.  The GOP Senate will be spending their time approving Trumps judges and appointees.

You sound concerned....the increased majority is immaterial...they were doing all that anyway...what this will do?

Stroke.  Trump. Out.

Wrong   maybe do the math  at 51-49 they could overload only 2 committees, now they will be able to overload 8-10.  That's a huge difference.

If you thought Elizabeth Warren has it in for financial types, just wait until Waters starts building her gibbet.

The house can draw up impeachment on Trump and Kav and it will not ever get a vote in the Senate, because it will never make it out of Senate Committee.

Nobody will be cutting his mic off again. But Nunes better keep his head down. Elijah has some scores to settle with that rat farker.

The House controls the purse strings. You can kiss that wall goodbye. And there won't be any more robbing Peter (domestic programs) to pay Paul (border enforcement) now that Dems are in charge of the dollars.

My bad. It was Issa who cut Cummings' mic off.

But Nunes might want to wear suits that blend in with wall colors. He will be in the House Oversight and House Intelligence Committee's crosshairs.
