I should take up drinking.

you also have to keep in mind issues related to gossiping. think about stories where they said that some strange folks didn't show up to work on 9/11. but it would be mistake to jump into some sort of conclusions or assumptions in light of other interesting stories. You know how borat was singing about throwing a big party and wells. Maybe he meant wellness of the well of wells fargo. Remember their scandal of millions of fake identities? So such folks never show up for work, but obviously can be utilized for all kinds of fishy hot fuzz related business

The wiki article is heartbreaking.  "Spencer later said, "I asked for a radio and he bought me a gun." When asked why he might have done that, she answered, "I felt like he wanted me to kill myself."

Hahaha. Last time I sought help I was handcuffed to a bed in my underwear for three days, ignored, then dumped out on the streets as soon as they could say they did their due diligence. Not going through that again thanks.

Even though today isn't Monday. (Thursday, my favorite day of the week because I have band rehearsal) Last night's fight with the wife left me very depressed this morning. Somehow, Monday's are the worst but I happen to think any day ending in "day" would do.

People turn to poison
Quick as lager turns to piss
Sweethearts are physically sick
Every time they kiss
It's a sociologist's paradise
Each day repeats
On easy, cheesy, greasy, queasy
Beastly Beasley Street
Eyes dead as vicious fish
Look around for laughs
If I could have just one wish
I would be a photograph
On a permanent Monday morning
Get lost or fall asleep
When the yellow cats are yawning
Around the back of Beasley Street

The young Japanese know that their labor laws need serious reform.  The problem is, they have the largest population of older people in relation to population of the whole, in the world, and those old geezers, like old people everywhere, just vote to make the problem worse, because they do not understand the monster they created, and all the corporations have to do is lie to them and say the young people just want to be lazy.  Just like every where else.

Good to see you're not adding to the rampant hatred and stupidity by rudely blowing off someone's kindly meant encouragement or anything. Because being the change you want to see is a loser's game, right?

Ok, take out the taxes, that leaves what? about $70 Million?
Ok, pay off your house, (approx $300-$500k depending where you live)
get a nice car, pay off some debts, give some to close family members, donate some to a good charity, and what are you left with? A few million if you're lucky.

Now you have to dodge all those telemarketers trying to get your money, the bigger charities knocking on your door pleading for you to make a donation every 5 minutes, old or ex friends/family calling to remind you that you promised them that if you ever won the lotto, you would give them some and all the other heartache involved with winning a big lotto.

Look I am a big fan of being independently wealthy and all, but winning a lotto seems like nothing but a hassle and more problems than what it's worth.

YMMV

I can see you're having a really difficult time with the whole, "rich fantasy life" aspect of this. :-)

I'll write a small pamphlet going into more depth, after I win (of course).

I'm in a rotten mood today.

I don't know, fantasy, just doesn't cut it. It's like day dreaming, at one point you'll stop dreaming and be forced back into reality where things are sucky at the moment with no sign of getting better. So I just don't see the point.

If I could drug myself up and never get "straight" again, it might help. You know be permanently  stoned or something,. but I don't happen to live in Canada.

For many, yesterday is something you can get over and over again. Either recalling happy memories on your own or with friends, or endlessly ruminating over past errors or things you missed out on and getting upset about those memories.

Great article, it committed suicide partway, by hitting a paywall saying only subscribers can read the rest.

I can't tell if Fark can't find a way to not allow paywall sites, or just don't care.

The only advice I have for coping with "today" is to ignore it. Or maybe not taking it too seriously. Try sleeping. That helps. So does Fark. Hobbies, even if they're super lame like Binge netflix/amazon... Reading... that sort of thing work and are pretty cheap.

Usually, you have a 50/50 chance that tomorrow will be better. And if not, know that the sweet-nothing  non-embrace of Oblivion is just around the corner, and you'll have that until the heat-death of the Universe. So, good times!

I can't ignore today as I am currently experiencing it now.
Not taking it too seriously? I can try that, but my situation is quite serious (life changing)
Sleep? I can't sleep when I'm depressed.
Hobbies? I love making music and tonight is band rehearsal which I always look forward to but I haven't mastered how to take my mood and remove it from my hand/guitar strings. Maybe when I get there, i'll feel better with a guitar strapped around me. (hoping so, anyway)

I appreciate your thoughts. Thanks.
