I thought the drug lord wanted a hug from Fred Savage

Photoshop a picture of his wife, naked, in bed with two 20-year-old studs. Send it to him with a message saying "sorry honey can't visit very busy".

I'll accept that he needs a hug from his wife when he sits in the electric chair.

Doesn't this belong in the D'awww section?

I'm sure there are many widows out there that would love to love their husbands/his victims as well.

Hmmm... teasing the head of the Sinaloa Cartel about his wife farking other men, even though he is in jail awaiting trial.

There was just a story in the Post about his wife spending all his money in Mexico, so  it might not really be a hug.

I thought the same thing but perhaps not.  May be as simple as attempting to  make him seem like less of a murdering monster with no regrets, and more like a simple man who had a  really, really difficult job.

His trial hasn't started yet, they just wrapped up jury selection today.
One juror was disqualified for asking for help in getting El Chapo's autograph.

Won't happen. They won't let you do something like that in traffic court, let alone a federal case like this. You are assumed innocent until proven guilty under the law, but once it gets to court, you are treated as guilty until proven otherwise.

Years ago I asked a bailiff if I could say hi to a relative in court before the hearing started. I don't remember exactly what his reply was, but it was hell no on a number of levels. I thought they may put me on trial for asking.

Sure. But simple men don't tend to run successful drug cartels.

Oh, wait. I forgot he was on trial here. They're still pretty likely to get shot, but at least it will be random.

They dismissed six people from the jury pool who said that they feared for their safety.
All bets are off, anything can happen. I think the trial starts in a week or so.

I didn't make that claim.  I speculated he might be trying to seem simple.

I also am not endorsing it, or commenting  on the likelyhood of it happening.

How about a compromise: Chapo can be the wife in prison, where he will be "hugged" constantly. Deal?

This X the hundreds of victims he's likely responsible for.

I guess he doesn't understand they can strip search both of them before and after the hug.

fark that guy. He can get a hug from Bo Bo, the 7 foot tall Aryan Nation guy who weighs 500 pounds and half of that is sweaty chest hair. The rest is corn-fed muscle and racism.

Chapo needs to burn in hell. Put him in the Wood Pile for a month, see how long he lasts.

Normally I'm against the death penalty, but seriously. This guy is like a mini-Hitler.

This is not a joke.  I knew a guy who was a federal marshal and he apprehended a lot of Mexican criminals.  He told a story of arresting a top ranking crime boss and the guy was joking with the Marshall as he was in handcuffs being led to the police car saying "hey man, you're a good guy.  If you need anybody taken care of, just let me know, it will be done the next day."  He's saying this knowing he still could order this even from prison and my friend knew he was not joking.
