My friend's three year old punched me in the ol' beanbag last night when I stopped by to give him his birthday present.

I'm now glad I added in a box of Bamboozled jelly beans with the nerf gun I got him .

And I will be buying myself one of those high performance ones that shoot the little balls to teach the little farker a lesson.  I will probably also be buying some serious nerf firepower for his sister for her birthday.

No, basic rule of daycare is not saying it to the parents' faces.

That is true. You have to say it in English and then again in French.

I sincerely hope there is a deleted scene from Kindergarten Cop where Detective Kimble calls the kids assholes.

/Met a guy at a party back in college who claimed that he played the fat kid who stole the lunches.
//I believed him.
///Because why would somebody lie about that?  :-)

If we don't censor language in private communications, how will we get to the next step of censoring ideas?

I'm the eldest granddaughter and old enough that I did babysit a lot of my younger cousins as a teenager. I could easily stop all of them from misbehaving just by saying that punishment from me was going to be a lot more pleasent than what our aunts and uncles would do to you if I had to say you weren't behaving.

On the other hand, if they're daycare age and you call them that to their face, that is The Most Hilarious Thing Ever. See also: Go the Bleep to Sleep.

/I do not advise doing this in a professional setting, adults get offended, but little kids think you swearing is the funniest thing.

Little kids swearing is also hilarious. I could could cuss up a storm when I was five or six and upset. My dad reminded me of that when I was 19, very upset, and trying to stay polite because pissing off the RCMP is a bad idea.

Oldest grandchild here, often took care of younger cousins at family events, had all the authority presence of a teddy bear, but my cousins adored me and followed along just to see what would happen.
They're a good bunch, and over the years they've all pretty much surpassed me as "good people." Proud of them.

Toddlers and such are no match for middle school kids.

Take my word for it. I know.

I kept my unruly cousins from misbehaving through fear. The worst I would do to a misbehaving cousin was manhandle him or her into a corner and say "stay here". That meant his/her parents were about to be very unhappy.

They got it from 4chan.

You know how when you're camping, you fill your cup from the whitewater's mist? Fark is like that cup, 4chan is like the brook/river.

Sounds like neither of us conformed to societal expectations.

I have some of those jellybeans somewhere. That is NOT a fun game to play. The dead fish flavoured one made me gag. My toddler wouldn't accept no when i told him he didn't want to eat them. The look on his face indicated he learned that lesson the hard way.
