Even my Ukrainian Grandmother agrees with that.

/They grew hemp at her family farm back in "The Old Country".
//Doubt they grew jazz cabbage, though.

So, on to more practical matters... how long before actual, licensed recreational weed shops are open for business in Michigan? Because that's not a very long drive for me, er, my friends. My friends who want weed. Because they smoke it. Them. Yeah...

Repeal the prohibition at the federal level and let the States regulate it - just like alcohol.

Private_Citizen: Repeal the prohibition at the federal level and let the States regulate it - just like alcohol.

It's already legal in my state (WA), and unfortunately, it's managed by our liquor control board....it's one of the worst parts of our state government.

/Pot shop close to my favorite bar used to offer 10% off if you had a same day receipt from said bar.
//Liquor control board unfortunately put an end to that.
///Can't partake due to employer drug testing.
////But I'm glad it became legal here.

Here getting caught with some will ruin your life. So, although I feel for you having to deal with onerous bureaucracy, beats dealing with the police.

Nothing that causes people to bang on the piano or jump out windows should be legal. There's a film director who ought to be in jail.

If the marihuana is legalized, colored folks will start playing jazz music, looking at White women, and reading newspapers printed on hemp paper instead of wood paper.

Even before it was legal here in Canada, I used to hang out in an old pool hall, and the weed smoke was so strong, you would get high just being in the room. The cops knew of course. But even then (30 years ago), they really didn't care. Only if you were toking while driving.

That's the thing... this article is the opposing argument to the USA Today opinion on marijuana legalization. The one OP linked was written by the Marijuana Policy Project. Which reminds me, I really need to donate to MPP... they worked really hard to get Prop 1 passed here.

maybe 15 years ago or so, I was on a hockey team trip to Vancouver. asked our hotel desk person, where can i find some bud...he said go to any of these (and listed a couple close to the hotel) bars and go in and order a beer. when the person you're looking for sees you, you'll give them a nod, and then you should be good.

got 4 grams for 40 CDN, left about a third of it taped to the tv in the hotel room with a thank you note. still in the top 5 of weed I've ever enjoyed.
