Any job?  I mean the Browns could hire him back, they need Gatorade-squirters and foot-wrappers..

The comments in that thread indicate the browns are considering Josh McDaniels for the head coaching job. And people are happy about this.

Oh Cleveland.

Yeah.

I'm not sure why they consider Mayfield to be that attractive.

He's a very good offensive coordinator.

No way to know if he is a good head coach considering the situation he was in. But probably not.

McDaniels will never work for a team other than the Patriots. After what he pulled with the Colts this offseason no other team would dare touch him.

Difficult to win when you have that roster. I'd say the team has given up, but I doubt they ever actually tried.

Also, Nathan Peterman, whose QB rating would be higher if he simply threw the ball into the dirt every single down.

But what the Bills are doing is just part of the process. You have to respect the process...and the fact that the Bills still have another 1 1/2 seasons of paying Sexy Rexy to not coach.

Never under-estimate the stupidity of NFL owners.

I could see Rex Ryan coaching again before Hue gets a whiff of a head coaching job. Hue will be an OC next year somewhere.

I would hire Ryan before Jackson, but I'm not sure that we will be seeing Rex coaching anytime soon. I doubt that Ryan is on anyones short list for a head coaching job, and I can't see him willing to be a coordinator.

I mean this as a compliment to Ryan, I see him as a Bill Cowher type, get away from game and realize that living out the rest of your life doing some tv and enjoying the perks of being set for life financially beats the lifestyle of an NFL coach.

I'd take him over Vance Joseph. Joseph has a better w/l record but came into a better situation that he proceeded to screw up.

You're not wrong. I thought Joseph would get better, and he has, but not enough. The 62 yard field goal was a strange decision that lost the Texans game. Then they didn't even try to get closer at the end. I know a lot of people were hoping he'd get fired during the bye, but that didn't happen. It'll probably happen very near to the end of the season, like the McDaniels firing.

Well, there is some limit to how much further damage Joseph can do now that the trade deadline has passed. Giving Von Miller to the Rams for a sack of magic beans will have to wait until next year.  But he's continuing to destroy the team chemistry. Did you see Thomas's comments after he left? Next year's free agents definitely did. His teammates definitely did. Firing Joseph might not make things better but I don't think they'd continue to get worse.

Belichick had a losing record with the Browns. And that was the old Browns, that became the Ravens.

I think it's fair to say he's a bad head coach. He has a history of throwing everyone but himself under the bus.  He did it in Oakland, and he did it before and after being fired in Cleveland. I know it's not easy working with Todd Haley, but even the players had no idea what to make of Jackson's final couple of weeks as coach, when he said he was going to take over playcalling without consulting anyone.
