Oh the weather outside is frightful,
But the fire is so delightful,
And since we've no place to gooooooo......

Let it roll, let it roll, let it roll.

To be fair it's mostly a self correcting problem.

If people want to potentially voluntarily remove themselves from the gene pool, let them.

I believe in this crash, it wouldn't have made a difference.  Because from the look of that cab, his head would be severely damaged inside or outside the cab during that rollover.

I had a 2000 Ranger.  While I enjoyed that truck, I never felt comfortable going above 72 mph in it.  I fixed all the suspension on it, and it still felt too likely to not keep it's hold to the road.

A lap belt can be installed.  That is if strapping a machine between the thighs when rolling and sliding is how make sure the legs are sheared off.  Although the choice to have an unprotected melon to meet the asphalt is always a poor choice.

FTFA: "was driving a 1990 Ford Ranger in the area when his vehicle left the road for an unknown reason"

1990 Ford Ranger.

I think I found the problem. Those trucks weren't meant to last 5 years, much less almost 30.

The truck was as old as him.

And died the same day.

Oh i dunno...I once had a 1990 Ford Escort. Lasted me over 300k miles. With proper maintenance and care most cars can last a while. It wasn't until the window cranks, radio knobs started falling off and the heater switch coming undone, I knew it was time for a new car.

One of these is a car that was not probably overloaded under the presumption "It's a truck!" and used to haul too much weight on what was essentially a car body and suspension.

The cab looks fairly intact. He probably would have walked away if he had his seat belt on.

Not even close, the Ranger was basically a 3/4-size F150...had the gas mileage to prove it, too...

the photo of the crash scene shows what looks like a clean cut brake between cab and bed.

I'll assume wear and tear, rust and heavy loads throughout the truck's life contributed to it breaking off like that.

Not sure if the state this happened in had yearly inspections or if they even check for weak body frames or not.

Motorcycles are probably as safe as unbelted drivers, if not less safe.  Basically every single friend, family member, or coworker that I know rides a motorcycle ended up in the hospital at some point.

"Per vehicle mile traveled, motorcyclists' risk of a fatal crash is 35 times greater than a passenger car."

Yeah, Christmas, FL is not much more than a wide spot in the road.
