I would drink NA beer if it tasted like real beer, and was half as expensive.

Otherwise, screw it.

"But where's the inflated sense of self-esteem?"

I just had a St. Pauli Girl NA for the first time in years.  (Had had a couple-few real ones, had to eventually drive, decided to be responsible).  It was much better than I remembered.  Not great, but solid with a bacon cheeseburger.

But you're right on the price.  Don't charge me $5 for it.

Not if it tastes like Heineken.

I don't mind NA beer in some contexts.  There are times where a beer goes really well with a particular meal (usually a cook-out of some sort) but you really don't want the negative effects of intoxication because you've got to drive or whatever.  Yeah, it's not going to be quite as tasty as a "regular" beer, but whaddya gonna do?

Rare that I'll actually buy it, though.  I usually try to arrange things so that I don't have to worry about it.

I've never seen the point to nonalcoholic beer, I don't drink beer just for the taste, while I have had many good tasting beers over the years, if it's not giving you a buzz then it just seems pointless.

You're in business because of alcoholism. This company is in serious denial if they think sober people want to drink this shiat.

One of my friends in the home brew club makes a great English mild. Great flavor and only clocks about 2.9 abv. He made it for the crawfish boils where I have 150 lbm of crawdads and I don't want to fall down around pound 75. Trying to drink it to get drunk just gets you all bloated. It is also nice on weekdays when you need to be bright-eyed in the morning.

This is not what ZZ Top had in mind with "I'm Bad, I'm Nationwide."

I liked the O'Douhl's dark version.  My sister worked at A-B and got two free cases a month.  She doesn't drink and our sister is married to a Coors man.  I actually haven't had a drink of real booze since Desert Storm for some reason so I got O'douhl's.  Busch NA seemed good too but it was manufact... er brewed in St. Louis.

Not sure about the price because it was free and in 'free beer'.

All the burping and bad breath but none of the fun? I'll stick to the real stuff.

So, I walk up to the bartender and I say, gimmee a bottle of that Danish iss. And he says what's that?  And I say that's Heineken 0.0.  The Danish piss without the pee!

And I get thrown out anyways.

Clausthaler Amber is actually very good NA beer. I bought at least a sixer a week for Ms. Hobnail when she was pregnant.

I mean, it still doesn't taste exactly like real beer, but it's quite tasty on its own.

NA beer is never going to taste like "real" beer, simply because it's missing a component (alcohol).  But it can be reasonable.  I'd get O'Douls every so often, and didn't mind it.

That's why you spike it with a teaspoon of Everclear, right??

IMO the Clausthaler Dry Hopped is good too, the closest taste to beer among the NAs that are widely available.

It's so cute reading all the comments from people who will "never" drink NA beer. Guess what? NA beer is huge in Germany. And the reason is that they have a wide choice of good-tasting NA beers.

The problem here in the US is not NA beer, it's that we mostly have pretty bad NA beer. O'Douls, the NA you are most likely to get served when somebody else buys it for a party, is remarkably unpleasant and tastes nothing like beer.

Hasn't a chance against St Pauli NA.
