I'll pay to watch her stand alone, arch her back alone, or pretty much anything alone.

ok, but can we somehow find a reason for Scarlett Johansson and Kate Beckinsdale to wear very tight and revealing clothing together in the same movie?

uh...no reason.  I just think it would be um...artistic.  yeah.

Ok. So at first I thought this was a lowball figure as I remember back in the 90's Jim Carrey getting paid $20M was a big deal. But looking into it, apparently Disney doesn't pay as much as other studios and the average is $10M.

So in this case... Good for her. I hope the script is good and the job is fun.

I have a fan made movie in my head for a Black Widow and Hawkeye movie.  Whole movie contrasts their upbringing and training.  Clint, born to decent parents who tried.  Natasha taken and programmed.  She under continuous training, him recruited out of college by his history TA, Phil Coulson
Both first missions have them running against each other.
Budapest is her exfiltration. She's doing her mission for as long as they need to keep cover till the escape location, but Clint is behind, cleaning up and preventing her being found out.

I wonder what the plot will be. I think spending a movie going into BW's "Origin" story would be a huge mistake. She was a Russian assassin who was "recruited" as a young girl, went through God-only-knows what kind of traumas in being raised and trained, then put to work seducing, torturing, and killing God-only-knows how many people.

The BW movie would have to have a hard NC-17 rating to even begin to do a proper telling of that story. And despite all the glorious nudity it would still be one gigantic bummer of a tale. And there's no way in Hell that Marvel would do a movie like that.

Just limit the origin stuff to a fairly brief part in the beginning of the movie where Nick Fury offers BW a path to reclaiming her soul. Then have a fun, humorous action movie about the pretty lady kicking a bunch of ass as a good guy.

And be sure to make her a redhead again.

If they can make a good spy caper out of it, I guess it could work. But I'm about as excited for a movie featuring Black Widow as I would be for one featuring Hawkeye, which isn't very much. I'd rather see a rollicking standalone Valkyrie movie, drinking and brawling across the universe.

I suspect the movie won't focus heavily on her "true" origin, but rather the shared backstory she and Hawkeye touched upon in The Avengers.

I like the idea.  She's really quite underrated in the role - I really can't imagine anyone else doing it well.

2018-10-12 08:33:31 AM
I was just thinking about this the other day. I think they should handle it like a James Bond movie. No origin story, just treat her character as established and go on a mission.

Crucially, they must release a Black Widow FPS console game to go with it, in the spirit of Golden Eye with a ton of gun-based Marvel characters to unlock for multiplayer.

It's 106 miles to Disney World, we have a full tank of gas, half a clip of ammo, it's dark, and we're wearing skintight leather bodysuits. Hit it.

I believe this is the kind of art that could bring America together again.

We should immediately invest what it takes to make this happen. No higher priorities.

There should be a significant amount of time devoted to Victoria Secret's product placements. For America.

Ugh no origin (just some flash backs if it must happen).

Black Widow should play like a combo bond film/Mission Impossible.
Cold open into Black Widow mid mission and either she completes it flawlessly and makes it look easy or the mission goes sideways and she only gets out by the skin of her teeth.

The rest of the movie is another mission where we see her use all of her skills, disguise, infiltration, hacking, etc.

Maybe set the movie somewhere between her joining shield and winter soldier.

They already made a good Marvel spy movie, Winter Soldier.

I would like to see Marvel do a good heist movie....oh wait, they already did that - Ant-Man.

Two problems with this -

1) we know her back story, and as someone already said, she is not the hero in it.  She was basically kidnapped, tortured, medically altered and then killed people.  Until Hawkeye came around and was supposed to kill her and ended up flipping her to work for SHIELD, she was a bad guy.

2) While it might be a stand-alone movie, they will have to include more Marvel characters.  This will be a 'stand-alone' movie in the same way Civil War was a Captain American movie.

It was an artsy film, I'll give it that. And I suppose the cinematography was good, but man it was slow as fark. She looked great in it though, and she proved she actually can act, even if she's not given any dialogue to work with.

She has to eat at sometime. Lets throw in a pizza guy with extra sausage. Played by the sexiest man in the biz, Steve Buscemi.

Her first interactions with Coulson/Fury as an asset (or potential asset) might be fun: she starts as a Russian assassin, and they "turn" her to start her on their missions.

Or did they?

Stuff goes sideways, and it looks like the Widow is going rogue (or perhaps is still in thrall to the Soviets?), so Clint's got to kill her. Or bring her back in, but probably just kill her. So it's a four-way race: SHIELD wants her dead (or in their custody, but seriously - don't kill yourself trying Hawk), the Soviets want her dead (bonus Sebastian Shaw appearance), Clint doesn't WANT to kill her (he's a Nice Guy) but he definitely wants her in custody, and Widow's trying to get out with her heart sill beating.
