Most likely more effective than prayer at diverting disaster.

Yeah, like when they play that practical joke, "sprinkle the cocaine on the dead black dude they just aerated."  Classic.

I was torn about which aspect to highlight - think we all done here now :)

Unfortunately this is Florida. We call it "humor" and the 5-0 don't got it.

Trespassing on public property? How does that work?

Jim Cantore is a bombastic fearmonger but you can't violate his rights because you don't like him.

I actually witnessed first hand two acts that say differently.

I was pulled over and the cop after running me and speaking with me said I literally don't feel like writing you a ticket and walked away.

Another time my neighbor riding a motorcycle DUI crashed in the ditch in front of our condos. The cops walked him and his bike home with no ticket or hassle.

True stories.

It seems to be, somewhat, tongue-in-cheek. They'd like to see him, just not associated with a hurricane.

Yeah, I don't think he can do that. He can threaten to do it, but he can't actually do it. Unless Cantore goes into an area that's been closed because of high water or whatnot.

Though it would be amusing to see Cantore arrested. Even more amusing to see him sue the shiat out of the county.

Actually, they do.   FTA: According to the post, "Everyone knows what's in store when Jim Cantore shows up. So we issued a little notice."
But the "warning" was all in jest, with a message to Cantore that says, "This is not a real trespass. We like Jim, just not under these conditions," the News Journal reported.

That was the first sign that this was just a big joke. On a serious note, his absence just might save Florida.I hope Anderson Cooper can find himself a nice comfy ditch to broadcast from.

Weather Channel vs. County Sheriff..... who to root for?

I know this is ha ha Jim Cantore, but with Judge RapeBro on the Court, I'm not so sure D2S wouldn't want to talk to some of his County Sheriff supporters to look out for those "Fake News Reporters".

Nice story but Grady Judd from Polk Co. Florida will now call a national press conference and put Cantore on a shoot to kill BOLO.

Judd is a vindictive, jealous, press hungry, bible humping asshole.

Is he the guy who claimed the winds were harassing him? In Jacksonville, lying about the wind is a crime. And hurtful to the wind.

That's Mike Seidel.
He's been acting like a fool for a good year or more now. Actually putting himself in weird and dangerous situations, despite the ridiculous theatrics of his 'it's so windy' farce.
I honestly expect him to just jump into storm surge at some point.

He will also be arresting any islands that dare erode, as being in pay of George Soros.

To issue a trespassing warrant one must actually own the property in question.

Which means that this sheriff believes that he, himself, owns the entire county, or has absolutely no idea how the law works. Or both.  I'm going with both.

A person might get the notion that this sheriff is a bit big for his britches until the reader gets to the end of the article where it says: "But the "warning" was all in jest ..."

It was only a matter of time before somebody went and done it. They've called the cops on the weatherman.

If there is an evacuation order, under Florida law, they can arrest you for being out and about. So theoretically, under the right conditions, the sheriff could arrest Jim Cantore.

\also true in NC and Texas.
