Looking at that inset I think it was either very brave or very stupid for Trump to go to Philadelphia. Then again he did visit Scotland, albeit only in a fenced-off area protected by snipers.

Well, to be fair, that's standard security for any President.  Marc Maron did an episode of WTF after his interview with Obama, and one of the things he talked about was the security for it, which included the Secret Service asking one of his neighbors (Obama actually came to Maron's garage, like any other guest) for permission to put snipers on their roof.

Is it standard procedure to build towers for the snipers in order to keep everyone at a great distance? That's what they did.

In all my travels around the world, I found Scotland to be the most racist country on earth... even more so than the deep south of the USA.  Trump should feel right at home there.

You may be confusing Antifa for Black Bloc (there is some Venn overlap but they aren't the same). They look similar, but Black Bloc are anarchists who just want to watch the world burn, whereas Antifa just hate fascists. They don't show up when fascists aren't around.

Antifa is inextricably linked with the punk scene in Britain and eastern United States in the 70s and 80s (especially Boston), which had a huge NAZI skinhead problem. The solution was to beat the shiat out of the skinhead punks wherever they showed themselves. It was a civil war that raged for a decade or more, but ultimately the skinheads were driven out of the mainstream punk scene.

The reason why you have heard a lot about Antifa only recently is a direct effect of the recent rise of fascism and white nationalism in the western world. Where there are NAZIs, Antifa will rise to fight those NAZIs. When the NAZIs go away, Antifa will too.

Antifa probably should change their login to something a bit more obviously anti-fascist in order to better get their message across and/or to make the American news-entertainment industry slightly less likely to "accidentally" mislabel them as anarchists or terrorists.

The new logo should be simple yet powerful, like an interdicted swastika.

With the possible exceptions of Vermont and Hawaii, EVERY STATE is like that. Blue islands in a sea of red.

It's just that the blue islands are where most of the people are.

The only difference between "blue states" and "red states" is the relative size of those blue islands.
