I was in northern Fla for a one day job and when it thundered a guy dropped a power washer and ran inside. I asked what was wrong and the boss there said "Oh, that's just Skeeter. He got hit by lightening a couple times so he's a little skittish."

ugh...i really wish they would actually think before they print (post) this shiat.

The city, more importantly, the county has been actively working on this. They have stopped spraying the city, for the most part, as the outdated way of dealing with the skeeter population is not effective.

The city has been buying up and placing around town, in the known breeding areas with https://spartanmosquito.com/

I play disc golf and found out about these things shortly before the city started to deploy them. The park i play mostly is notorious for standing water, just from spilling a cup. and the skeeters have been horrid for years. deet is nothing but nose candy to these guys. After playing one day, a few days after a downpour and zero hits from the lil vamps. I mean that, zero! I was flabbergasted...so I asked our league director about it and he said he bough them, and placed them throughout the park.

I bought some for my own yard and friends and family. They work amazing! However, after a rain, it does take a couple of days for them to become effective again. I want to fill it with colored water so i can see the little basturds explode in my yard!

They work!
I tell anyone who complains about mosquitoes about them and have not had anyone complain about them not working.

$20 for 3 months of dead skeeters....i am so in!

also, if you are in the Houston area, you can get them from 2 places. a feed store up in Tomball and a feed store out in Texas City, at least without having to buy the whole case, as you do on their site. Ive gotten mine from Tomball

I heard about a summer solstice celebration where the contestants walk into a field and get covered with mosquitoes. Then, the judge smashes a glove covered hand against their back, peels it back, and counts the number of dead mosquitoes. Twenty years ago I heard the record was over 200.

it takes roughly 2-3 weeks before they will start working. also, kinda stupid, but make sure you put water in them? and keep them away from areas that you normally congregate.

What i have read up about them is it is basically a yeast reaction that produces similar attractants to our exhalation. draws the male skeeters to it, they drink and flaw off to explode.

So, like if you put it near your patio or pool or some place you are always at, then yea, its gonna seem like it makes no change, as they are attracting them to the area. Keep em about 8-10 feet off the ground. I hung them from trees in the back corners of my back yard.

My neighbors have yet to thank me. pricks ;)

I put them at the very back of the yard at the corners of the fence. This was 2-3 months ago. And unlike most of us guys, I read and followed the directions.

They have that problem all across the South. Too many guys nicknamed "Skeeter".

They should round them up and deport them. Population's IQ would rise one or two points. If you deport them to Arizona ... oh, you already know that joke, why bother?
