What dilemma?  She gets to glory in all the American women who will die because of her.  She's jilling herself so hard, she's gonna develop callouses.

When it comes to the SCOTUS short list, it's supposed to be a short list for a reason.  You don't have people on it that run up 6 figures of credit card debt and then mysteriously pay it all off just prior to a SCOTUS nomination.

Kavanaugh stinks to high heaven, and it's not his Roe .v. Wade stance that even begins to be the issue.

If you're opposed to Kavanaugh's nomination, you owe it to yourself and all of us to go to the link in the article and commit $20.20.  They won't even charge your card if Collins votes against confirming him.  The more money in that pot, the more likely it is that Collins will do the right thing - if for the wrong reason.  She's one of the only votes that could potentially be counted as a swing vote.

The problem with the Jungle (read: Trump) River Cruise is: you cannot leave the boat once it is in motion. You have to live with the consequences. The only other option is jump to the alligators and hope they are merciful.

Collins has also complainedabout "vulgar" phone calls to her office from people opposed to Kavanaugh, the least popular Supreme Court nominee in decades, who, in opinion polls, is doing slightly worse or even with the ill-fated Harriet Miers and Robert Bork.

/If only they'd have handled him like Kavanaugh and focused more on his exceptional cooking and smokin' hot chicks than his competence, he might have overfed Scalia into an early grave.

Republicans can only blame themselves for this state of affairs. After first occasionally standing up to Trump post-election, they've completely thrown their lot in with him, fearful of their shrinking party's Trump-loving base.

So, with the primaries basically over, why aren't we seeing some of these assholes pivoting away and putting a little daylight between themselves and trump?

It's not like their base is going to vote for the dem in the general election.  I guess they might stay home if they aren't sufficiently inspired - does that outweigh what they might pick up from the center?

One point no one is talking about with regards to the Senate.
Even if the GOP does lose Texas or Tennessee.   They will spend millions of dollars they could have saved for 2020 or spent to save some house seats.

I kind of want to watch it now to get a dollar amount, but I put they blow upwards of 20 million more than they should have to between the Senate and the house.

Meanwhile, what the Democrats need to also focus on are state house races to fix redistricting after the 2020 cencus

Of course he does. Everyone Trump nominates does. Because in his world, there's no such thing as trust. But there is blackmail.

It's not that Trump wants to nominate criminals... They're just the only people he can rely on.

I have no idea why Collins is sticking with Trump, does she really think he is going to improve as president in two years?
The longer she stays with him the harder it is going to get wash his taint taint off of her.

My question is, is Trump still paying his legal fees as "promised" or did he pull a Trump and start making the RNC pay it again?

I wouldn't be surprised if she didn't campaign in 2020, but stepped down and retired.
That's why she doesn't care.   She'll probably retire.   She got hers, screw the rest of us.

Why aren't we seeing it from those who are retiring like Flake? WTF does he care if Trump voters don't like it? Yet he keeps voting in lockstep with the party. Maybe he thinks actually taking action instead of just talking about it would hurt his chances at a sweet, high paying post-Senate gig.

Grassley's office says "the committee vote on Judge Kavanaugh's nomination will proceed as scheduled, next Thursday," despite report on sexual misconduct allegations.

What. A. Surprise.

2018-09-14 01:38:02 PM
I doubt she's freaking out. Even if she did, by some miracle, lose the election, it's not like she's gonna be poor, ever. She's 66 years old. If she felt like "working," she'll just get several cushy board appointments. And/or a "think tank" or consultant gig. Or go on the speaker's circuit. Whatever.

She ain't freaking out.

Also, the picture on her website is extremely flattering, ie, about 20 years old. She don't look like that anymore. I mean, everybody ages, but you can tell how honest someone isn't when they put an old (younger) picture of themselves on their website/Facespace/Twatter.

Snow was one of the last decent GOP moderates. From what I know she took her representation of her constituents, all of them, seriously. Enough to vote against the party when her people needed her too. I thought the Snow Removal Tea Party drive was a failure to recognize a good legislator over party team politics...
