Jesus, Lindsey, just come clean. Stop this charade. You're not fooling anyone. We *know* you're more compromised than a pastor playing "naked twister" with the choir girls.

Do your duty to your country, and rat the traitorous bastards out.

Poor McCain. When the Chinese left off torturing, the Republicans took up the baton. They tortured him for decades. The claimed he wasn't eligible to run for President because he was born outside the USA, namely in the Canal Zone, Panama.

Bullshiat. And Obama was born in seven cities like Homer the poet.  The media also had their fun. You remember the cartoons on SNL, the ones with real life speeches animated with animus? The one Robert Smeigel (Smeagle?) did non McCain was wicked funny and wicked cruel. It was worthy of a Republican spin-doctor.

Poor McCain. But I suppose you are entitled to your skepticism if you wish. "Tu l'as voulu, George Dandin, tu l'as voulu." He really did want to serve his country though. I don't think it is far for a liberal to say otherwise. Leave it to Conservative and Republican Idealogues and Demogogues.

2018-09-13 10:30:53 PM
In case you mistake me, he was born outside the continental USA, like Obama's first and most contested birth in Hawaii on August 4, 1961. That much is true. It did not disqualify him from serving as President though, or make his citizenship questionable. He was an American with American parents, born on American territory as it then was.

Lindsey Graham may be guilty of a lot of things, but being stupid isn't one of them. His "come around to supporting Trump" reeks of bullshiat of the highest order. No one who had opposed Trump comes around to him. You wind up on his side for other reasons. Besides Republican pundits and office holders, I've not seen such a reversal of opinion. M.I.C.E.

There's no reason for a 63 year old confirmed bachelor with a slightly effeminate cast from a conservative state to fear exposure of any sort from long-time professional extortioners like the Russians. Nothing to see here.

Maybe there's some kind of natural dominance structure that emerges when shriekingly camp authoritarians meet?

Once Southern Belle Lindsey actually met the Queen of New York in person he realized that a guy with a taste in interior decoration that would make Liberace blanche was just the leader he'd been waiting for.

Pretty much this. Until I see some definitive proof that Graham is compromised, I'm just going to assume he has authoritarian personality disorder.

Remember that one scene from the Avengers, where Loki demanded people kneel before him, and there was that one guy in the crowd that waxed poetic about freedom and dictators. . .? I just like to imagine that scene with a l'il MAGA in it, where you have a bunch of people in red caps instantly kneeling, saying, "we worship the guy with the magic stick now! OvO"

War hero ?

What did he do that was heroic ? He was a tortured POW. How is that in anyway heroic ? Perhaps inspiring as a survivor but heroic ?

And there was a pretty big group of people at the Hanoi Hilton and we never hear about any of those guys. Just McCain

Lindsey's in a tough spot. He is certainly compromised, so he has to snuggle up to Trump, but this will cause him to lose his Democratic support and he will get primaried in 2020.

That's not a typo, lots of Democrats strategically vote for Lindsey in the primaries because Democrats have a tough time winning statewide elections in SC and until recently Lindsey was seen as a moderate Republican in SC.

He should just accept his fate (because the compromat will come out eventually), let the chips fall where they may, and do what's best for the country... but it doesn't look like he will.

I guess you don't think a fireman rushing into a burning building is a hero.

did he fly in to the SAM on purpose to sacrifice himself for someone else ? Im actually asking as I was under the impression he was simply shot down.

And you describe peoples jobs. So all of what you said takes gumption and balls etc. But heroic acts are things above the norm. I know people just randomly throw that term around now to mean anyone they admire. But the reality is to be a hero one must step outside the norm and be extraordinary.

So a fire team advancing is doing their job, a person who say rushes a machine gun nest on their own to save their pinned down buddies = heroic. Hero doesn't mean people doing what is expected of them

In every dictatorship, dissidents and politicial opponents come around to understanding the error of their ways on their death beds. In Russia they often come to appreciate what a great leader Putin is in mid-air, after falling through a window.

McCain could have been released early if he simply accepted the Northvietnamese's offer to send him home early because his father was the Naval Commander in the Pacific theater. He refused.
In military terms that's heroic.

People who put their lives at risk in service to their fellow man, ARE heroes, regardless if doing so is part of their job description. Let me see if I understand: If I rush into a burning bldg to rescue occupants I'm a hero, but if a firefighter does it he's just doing his job? It's the same heroic act, why the distinction? I understand that the term 'hero' is diminished by its overuse, but it's also diminished by the trivialization of heroic, if routine, acts.

It's entertaining to believe he's compromised, but far more realistic to believe he is simply willing to protect Trump in order to fulfill the GOP agenda. Have you seen the break-neck speed at which federal judgeships are being filled?

Those are LIFETIME appointments. This is like getting the lottery numbers ahead of the draw.

Yup. He's a politician making political decisions. John McCain is dead so he's out if the equation. Graham has moved on to his next power play.
