I used to disrespect Lawrence by calling it Larry.  Even I think this is going too far, though

The hell kind of gas line problem results in DOZENS of explosions and fires?  One is too many!

nekom: The hell kind of gas line problem results in DOZENS of explosions and fires?  One is too many!

This. What it basically sounds like is that there's a massive overpressurization issue and anyone who had a spark started it. WCVB is showing a house pretty much blow'd up with no fire right now. Lawrence FD is saying there's 12 fires they are NOT responding to yet because they just can't.

2018-09-13 05:52:17 PM
That sounds entirely unpleasant.
Never really have liked that phrase: "If you smell gas"

Random Home Explosions should be the name of somebody's cover band.

Houses are exploding left and right.
Advice is being given by authroties "If your house has gas run out of it now"
Natural gas....clean and safe they said. Until it explodes your house.

By the next year I'd try any route just for novelty's sake
I was cursed with a thirst that no single township could slake
Oh, at the wheel I looked calm, but inside I was running amuck
When a sign in the road dead ahead sent me straight into shock

"Entering Lawrence"
My God! I was out of control!
And I'd no sooner finished with Lawrence,
Then boom; I was entering Lowell
Then I backtracked and reentered Lawrence
Then Quincy and Norton as well
Around midnight I pulled into Athol and flopped in a fleabag motel.

2018-09-13 06:09:49 PM
23 buildings have exploded so far...that they know of.

Sorry, subby. It has to be a package deal of taking out both sucky cities of Lawrence and Lowell. If either one survives, it'll just use mitosis to replace the other city lost.

They just said 20 to 25 structures have been effected. If you know how to shut your gas off do so if not get out.

Somebody is getting sued....of course since it's the gas company they will just raise rates and the people suing will end up paying themselves.

Cross anyone's mind yet that this could be a terrorist attack that involved hacking into the gas company computer system and entering:

$gas_pressure = '1000000psi';

or something to that effect?

/yes, I know it wouldn't be that simple

The good news, if they're still alive, is that the people whose houses blew up can now all move to Beverly Hills.

Wow. Multiple gas explosions.

It has to be a problem with the gas lines: either negligent maintance or something gone wrong somewhere.

Very scary in a place not prone to constant natural disasters.

There will have to be a witch hunt, I suppose. But at the moment, there are too many things to do.

Fun fact: Natural gas is odorless. The smell is actually a malodorous additive meant to alert people to a possible leak.
