General human condition: everyone likes status symbols, bc they are signals of your superiority in at least one area. And most of our symbols translate as badges of one sort or another.

Tokyo Boy Scout is a damn solid band name.

Apparently none of you know the punishment for NOT getting those badges in his family.

Yeah, but how often did the Scoutmaster molest him?

That "Harmless Scoutmaster" meme probably scared him shiatless.

I heard that to earn Eternal Scout, you have to camp out in the Dog Park.

Funny you should say that... when I first started reading the headline, I thought it was going to be about a band.

Still needs to earn the "I Touched a Real Girls Boob" badge.

Probably will cost him $5 and a meeting with the bouncer to reacquaint himself with the No Touching policy.

I recall meeting some parents of Scouts some twenty years ago.  The conversation was riddled with dog whistles.

I was in the scouts.... I'd do the prerequisite activities to earn the badge, but routinely fail in the administrative part to actually lay claim to the badge.

/Funny, i'm still the same way these days, in my work life.

Psh. I turned my paperwork in the day before my 18th birthday, as was tradition in my troop. I had a friend drive me out to the scouting office to do it too.

Sorry for introducing this, but if someone told trump about this kid he'd claim to have gotten more badges when he was a Scout.

Oddly enough, finding a girlfriend is the reason that I didn't bother finishing the requirements to make Eagle.  Every so often, I wonder if anything in my life would be different if I'd finished the service project and the last two merit badges, but I really don't think it would be any different.  It'd just be a line on my resume and that would be about it.

Sure, but they also don't offer the bury a dead hooker in a toxic landfill merit badge in Japan.

I once met an alien at the Holiday Inn in Paramus, NJ.  He bought me a drink, and took me up to his room.

You met an alien that had a room at the Holiday Inn in Paramus, NJ?

Or maybe it was a room on his space ship made up to look like a room at the Holiday Inn, I can't be sure.

Seriously, though, that's a lot of hard work.  Good for him!

I honestly don't remember how many I had when I made Eagle at the age of 13.
It was well over thirty.
I think I ended my Scouting with near 60.
(30 is pictured, but I know I had more on the sash on the bottom).
