But by all means, southeastern states, continue to vote for people who deny climate change. See where that gets you.

Is this just seasonal weather or climate change?

Let me look review the talking points of the DNC and RNC...

So... remember some weeks ago a couple of threads popping up here on fark asking where all the hurricanes were this year, and all the usual idiots were going "LOL liberals and global warmin!"

So wat do now?

They do that every year. Florence does look like it could turn out to be a kick in the ass, though.

It's fine. We have a great commander and chief and a well funded FEMA...

...What's this? He transferred millions to ICE from FEMA and 3K people died in PR partly as a result of the incompetence of the administration. Well I'm shocked! Guess you coastal farkers are right farked.

Surprisingly, storing additional energy in a system causes it to have more energy.

Naw, just seasonal weather.

However, two weeks ago when everything was calm and Fark was saying "Whar, hurricane, whar?" It was proof climate change was a leftist lunacy.

95L in the Gulf of Mexico will probably organize enough to hit Cat 1 Hurricane before it hits Texas.  So we could have two hurricanes hitting in the same week.  The Gulf is super hot right now, so I would expect if the cross shear is low that it would escalate quickly.  Hopefully Isaac will stay disorganized and keep going into Mexico, but that's a long way off.
Be safe Florence dodgers, this ones going to be brutal.

/Wanted to be Hurricane hunter growing up, but my college (only one I could afford) closed the Meteorological department the week before my first class

This is a key factor that most people don't get about global warming.  The average global temp is higher but there's much more variation and randomness around it.  So you can get weird shiat like a snowstorm with 80 degree weather a week later and it's all global warming.  We're changing the weather to Hard Mode and all kinds of crazy things are gong to happen.

Mangkhut looks like a beast. Probably a good thing it will hit the the northeast side of Luzon rather than hit Hong Kong with a full head of steam.

Yes, and we're in the hottest years on record, and are now getting storms consistently rated as "50 year" or "100 year" storms almost every year.

Storm severity will continue to increase as long as we keep temperatures up.  This is just the beginning.
