Thanks, I'm about to finish a lengthy book (on the 8th Air Force in WWII) and needed something new to read.

The only thing I have against Stanhope was his approach to Bingo's seizure from a cocaine OD that put her in a coma (or the head trauma from the resulting fall did).  Well, at least the SECOND seizure.  He essentially said "It's happened before, she'll live."  If you love someone who has had coke give them seizures TWICE it's time to get them to stop using it.

I was really tempted a few years ago, to drive the 2 hours to Bisbee.  It was right before the Super Bowl, and he was on Joe Rogan, and said he was having a come one come all super bowl party.  he was about to give his address and joe stopped him:  "dude.  DUDE.  this podcast gets literally, a million downloads.  are you sure you want to do this?  Is this one of your goofs?"

"not at all, Joe.  if someone's gonna get me, they're gonna get me.  and you have to really want to go to Bisbee.  it ain't exactly easy."   ".......well.....alright, man, don't say i didn't try to protect you from yourself."  "OK, it is 123 Smith Street, Bisbee, AZ.....bring your own shiat.  I'll have a little bit of food but, don't show up and drink all my shiat and smoke all my shiat, don't be an asshole, ok?  and if you are an asshole, my other guests will handle things.  ok?  just come on down, let's watch the farking super bowl.  and you can't stay with me afterwards, you're on your own."

i was so very, very tempted, just for the story.

This all sounds like a big cover-up. How do they know it was his vomit? Did they even try dusting? Spectra photography?  I can't believe that in 2018 they still don't have the facilities to analyze it.

It's not super clear from the article, but it seems to say he was alive but unconscious for the video.

Sequence seems to be:
Guy takes something and passes out
'Friends' make mocking video and presumably leave
Guy vomits, possibly while still unconscious (potential for aspiration)
Parent finds guy covered in vomit and not breathing, calls 911
Paramedics administer Narcan and take guy to the hospital, but its too late and he is declared dead.

The friends probably should have called for paramedics themselves, but since they called the video a 'wake up call' I would guess they were hoping the guy would see it and want to get clean on his own, without getting the authorities involved. They just didn't count on the guy ODing so hard.

brizzle365: im more interested in fentenyl laced xanax than i am the video.

That doesn't even make sense though. Xanax is one of a few trade names for Alprazolam.  The only way to 'lace' a tablet would be to grind it up, mix it was the other drug then form the mixture into tablets. After this it wouldn't really be accurate to call it xanax anymore. It's just alprazolam mixed with fentanyl.

Also it makes no sense for someone to actually do this, at all.  This is just somebody who doesn't understand what they are talking about making stuff up in their grief.

Did they know he was dead at the time? Or did they think he was just passed out?
When I was living in the dorms my first year of college, pranks done to people foolish enough to pass out in public were a common thing, and the one here would be considered mild. It was a bit cruel to the individual, but it taught everyone to be responsible with their drinking. Nothing emphasizes how vulnerable you are drunk than finding someone duct taped to the inside of the dorm elevator.

If it was your place and you were getting wasted with a group of friends, you really didn't want to be the first one to pass out. Everyone just assumed everyone else knew what was going to happen, and everyone expected everyone else to know their limits. If you were a lightweight or just let yourself get carried away, that was on you.

However much trouble you might think you're going to get in by having a guest sent to the university-affiliated hospital with alcohol poisoning, imagine how much worse it would be if he shows up covered in crude sharpie, or shows up covered in crude sharpie and dead!  This was before smartphone days, but I imagine the pitch is the same, just more so, when it comes to pictures and video.

You could tell the university's interests were not entirely altruistic, or at least they were appealing to our survival instincts, because they always stressed that on-campus alcohol poisoning cases went to the university-affiliated hospital.  So you know, if something bad does happen at a frat party, call the university police to have the person taken to the university hospital, who will ensure they are well taken care of.  *hint hint hint*

Priapetic: Hyjamon: Birnone: Back when my circle of friends used to get wasted, anyone who passed out first got the treatment. Controlling you like you were a puppet would be the least notable thing done. We didn't have anything other than camcorders(look it up) back then, and absolutely nowhere to 'upload' the video anyways, so some fun times have been lost forever like tears in the rain.

What if someone passed out in their own place or room?  Seemed like if you passed out in your own place, you should be left alone.

In college, the rule was if you had your shoes on, you were passed out and fair game.  Shoes off meant you were asleep and immune from tomfoolery.

A buddy on our floor passed out after drinking a bunch. We drew a bunch of dicks on his face as punishment. He eventually wakes up and we all started cracking up. He wants to know what's so funny. He eventually looks in a mirror and freaks out

Apparently he was struggling with his grades and had to see the dean of the college at 8 in the morning... 5 hours from then. And that shiat was permanent marker. I always wondered how that meeting turned out

This seems like a good time to let you know that there is a Weekend at Bernie's themed gas station on my way to work

why in Perry, KS? Does that mean there's a Gateway To Hell Convenience Mart in The Hamptons?

Egoy3k: brizzle365: im more interested in fentenyl laced xanax than i am the video.

Here's the deal.  Most of the xanax on the market is counterfeit and made on pill presses.  The goofuses pressing the pills will take a variety of powders (half of them don't know what it is because they bought it online from china where quality control doesn't exist) blend it up in a blender with maltodextrin, press it and then sell it as xanax.  Meanwhile it could be a concoction of untold substances and the people pressing the pills have no idea if what they just sold you was all binder or a lethal dose of a substance.

Some dealers purchase "research chemicals" legally that are analogs of benzos. They use a pill press to add fillers, other drugs and sell them. You can buy all kinds of crazy chemicals if you know where to look. These chemicals are legal because their structure is just different enough from scheduled benzos and government can't keep up at the rate of the changes that producers make to the chemicals.

I hope that sheds some light.

to be fair, generic meds can differ from the tried & true name brand pharma stuff by up to 18%, i think? Sorta like how Richard Pryor substituted cigarette tar for the unknown components-under the Red Sun, at least-in "Superman 3"

NotThatGuyAgain: Hyjamon: Egoy3k: Mirtine: This guy wasn't a full-time junkie. He was on Xanax combined with Fentanyl. A recreational user. Dude mixed a powerful opiate mixed with a benzo. Bad news man. Real bad news.

He farked up. He forgot to have his buddy Jesus spot for him.

The only thing I can think of when I see that image is how that guy has an impressive physique for a junkie.

dude has nun-chucks on the door handle; he is a real bad-ass

Lol, never noticed that.  I always see the gun and the cards on the table a further "proof" of what a degenerate he is.

take a long and close look at everything in the picture.  I seem to always notice something new.  The artist really did well shoe-horning a lot of stuff in without labeling everything ala Garrison

no shirt no shoes: ShonenBat: I think I've seen this video on YLYL. Laughed but I did not know the dude was dead.
/One ticket, please.

I might have too.  In the video they wrote Andy on the bottom of the guys shoe, just like Woondy's boot in toy story.

That was the viral video they were re-creating. Apparently it's a thing called getting "Toy Story'd"
