Huh...  Well, we all said there was more to this story.

At this point, it's time to put the pause button on the speculation and wait to see what the truth of the matter is.

Lover's spat?

If that's true, then neither the original statement that she attempted to unlock the door then was startled by him opening it, or her second version where the door wasn't shut all the way and just opened when she tried to put her key in are even close to true.

2018-09-11 04:39:49 PM
If she thought the apartment was hers and there was an intruder, why did she ask to get let in? Would she have either used her own key or called for back-up?

/Me thinks she just wanted to kill her neighbor.

And it gets worse: https://www.dallasnews.com/news/crime/2018/09/10/botham-jeans-killing-dallas-officer-sparks-protest-police-headquarters

So:
- officer fires weapon on peaceful law-abiding citizen
- people come out to protest
- another officer fires weapon on peaceful law-abiding protestors

Thankfully a non-lethal weapon in the second case.

Makes a lot of sense.  It explains "Let me in"  and also explains how a cop could be so lacking in situation awareness that she didn't notice any of the clues that it wasn't her home.

She wasn't a police officer at the time of the shooting.  She was just a drunk coming home from a bar.  Not sure why farkers fantasize about officers shooting civilians.

she's trying to line up the "citizen failed to follow directions" excuse that actually works very well.  A surprising number of authoritarian bootlickers buy that reasoning for anything done by an officer.

The current talking point from the right is that she gave verbal commands as an officer and the victim did not obey, so he deserved to be shot. So there's kinda mixed signals on whether she was acting as a LEO or not, even though she was off duty.

I'm guessing she was extremely drunk or high. Of course I'm sure that she wasn't tested or the results were conveniently "lost".

There is no "but" here. We need to stop making victims of police murders have to prove their innocence.

The only way this isn't murder is if the penalty for petty drug dealing and arms sales is immediate arbitrary execution. It's not.

And you would be wrong. It should not matter that there are "bad guys" involved. We expect this, cops are supposed to be law enforcement officers. Cops are not supposed to be summery jury, judge and executioners. Unless a suspect is using lethal force against a LEO, there should be no right for an LEO to use lethal force. Afraid of getting your asked kicked a little in a scuffle with a bad guy? Maybe you should be an accountant instead of cop.

Context? He was killed by a 73 year old civilian playing cop and pulled his pistol (supposedly) when he thought it was his taser.

There's your context.

Why don't you get drunk at a bar, go shoot someone, and see if you're treated with the same kid gloves as her.  Go ahead and report back, we'll wait.

Do you not realize I was replying to a picture comment and not about TFA?

I personally wouldn't mind the death penalty for people who sell meth or illegal guns in any quantity.  Maybe not the first conviction but after that?  F*ck them.

The NRA said that they would have had his back if he had a gun and shot an intruder. But we all remember Philandro Castile.
