So you could spend some time on insurance claims and police reports and so on, instead of driving away laughing while the cops arrested them and towed that busted-ass vehicle? To each his own I guess.

One of them didn't have a license. Obviously that's failed to be a deterrent.

I think they have a good chance of figuring out who these people are given they had to go through the toll booths before this (as I think they take pictures of the cars as they pass through).

Having a traffic control team is critical in these kinds of exercises to keep idiots from "properly maintaining a lane" (sic) and ending up getting themselves hurt.

Not a good idea. I used to do none standered auto liab. Putting your self and property in imminent danger would fark your claim. I would put 5% of liability on the assholes spinning donuguts and 95% on the bigger asshole who purposefully drove into it. And if all 4 of the donuts dicks vehicles were involved in the accident you caused I doubt your policy would come close to covering the property not to mention the bodily injury exposure. Yep, you would be farked.

Try them.  When found guilty toss them off the same bridge.  If they survive, they go free.

Put it on you tube.

Throw sideshowers off bridges faster than they can reproduce.  Problem solved.

As stupid as these sideshows are, I'm kinda glad they happen. I've lived in the bay area all my life. When I was a teenager, sideshows weren't a thing. We cruised downtown or drag raced in the nearby hills. Lots more kids got hurt and killed back then due to illegal racing, which often involved alcohol. Cars back then didn't have air bags and older cars only had lap seat belts. Now, the streets are all in too bad of shape for racing. Same streets are still there, but they're all lumpy as hell. So as stupid as these shenanigans are, at least kids aren't getting hurt and killed as much.

One night we did 120 mph across the San Mateo bridge in my buddy's 72 Charger. It was very late on Christmas Eve and virtually no one else was on the bridge. Thought we might go Dukes of Hazard when we got to the top. That was fun.

Four good race tracks and three good drag strips within a two hour driving radius of the SF Bay Area and still there are shiatdicks out there who think this is a good idea.

Once you add up the legal fees, infractions, tow cost, 30 day impound cost, insurance hike, etc...  You suddenly realize that you could have paid for a couple years worth of track days, entry fees into drift events, drag entries, performance parts, race fuel, tires, etc.

Part of the reason I quit going stupid on motorcycles on public roads long ago and took it to the track(s) on the regular.

Plus, when you fark up at the track... which I did more than once, they've got EMTs and ambulances standing by.

Impound and crush their vehicles, revoke their licenses for life, mandatory jail sentences and steep monetary fines if they're caught behind the controls of a motor vehicle again.

if you can't play nice, you don't get to play at all.

Heh.  I grew up in FC.   If you caught air off the top of that bridge you would have plenty of time to consider your sins before you re-entered Earth's atmosphere and crashed.

Everything is Awful: What the hell people. Donuts are fun, but go find a goddamn empty parking lot.

As a kid, my buddy had about seven kids in his buick and we used the parking lot for the San Mateo fishing pier as a nice safe place to do donuts.   Weeeeeeeehaaaaa!   Made even more fun by boys and girls flying all over the place in the car (too many peeps for seats, so the girls were riding in our laps.)

We were just leaving when the first of the cops showed up, appearing out of the dust cloud like Satan himself.  Wups.

The buddy tried to explain to the cops how responsible he had been "learning how to drive" in a safe area.  The cops were so impressed they took him to jail for reckless driving and impounded his ride - and the charges stuck.   He got the car back, only to get popped for running a stop sign a week later.  By the same cop.

Ahhh youth.

Not.

I used to sell ENTENMANN'S on Long Island and I would be running fast to get out to Montauk on the Sunrise hwy. I sometimes would blast by speed traps doing 80mph and the cops rarely bothered me I think because they didn't want to be seen with a donut truck pulled over. I even had one cop cruise next to me and saw him just waving his hand lowering it to show me he didn't like how fast I was going. Usually a few boxes of donuts got me in line at the Ferry to Shelter Island too.

It appears the guys in at least one of the front vehicles are out of the car recording the stunt.  I am thinking the three front vehicles are intentionally blocking, while their idiot friends do the donuts, probably for a youtube video.  Hopefully they will post, and then get arrested and charged, and spend the next several years of their life in legal trouble.

The solution here, and for all stunt driving on public roads, is to seize the vehicles. In my experience the kind of guy who does this really isn't too worried about license implications, but take away the toy he invested most of his meager income in and he'll feel it.

IIRC, Australia (or maybe it's New Zealand) already does that. This can suck for the car owner if they aren't the one driving.

I would assume there are provisions for stolen vehicles so that victims of crime are not further victimized by being held accountable for actions beyond their control. I would further assume it's a rare event for car rental agencies (since the kind of guys who would do this are unlikely to be unable to rent a car) but they can file civil action against the renter. The more likely scenario is people loaning cars to friends and in such cases this will simply teach people to make better decisions.

Some people seem to have this idea that they can intentionally cause a collision with someone breaking the law and everything will be cool because they were "in the right".

Oh, please. Right out of the box. the current ones will run the 1/4 in 12 flat, plus they can actually stop and turn. Yeah, with enough time and money you could get a "classic" 'Stang to do the former, but you'd wind up with something needing constant maintenance, and stupid amounts of gas.
