(The Raw Story)   That $15K/mo severence package/hush money Omarosa claims she was offered by the Trump family after she left the White House? By a staggering coincidence, that is EXACTLY the amount Trump's former bodyguard is being paid every month by the RNC   ( rawstory.com) divider line

Hmmm...I wonder if that's the "salary" they'll offer Hope Hicks?

Does that mean that Omarosa is telling the truth, or that that's where she got the number for her lie?

The better question is is Trump's former bodyguard being paid hush money, and if so is that legal?

So there's scale for this type of pay?

I think he was the same idiot who walked around with a folder with Jim Mattis's personal cell phone number on it in front of the press pool.

I don't see why it wouldn't be, he likely already had clauses in his contract against this.  Trump's a scumbag but an NDA for bodyguard has to be pretty boiler plate.  The severance is more like incentive to keep him quiet I'd think in case he was tempted to break it anyways for financial gain.

2018-08-10 05:55:01 PM
Don't worry: Cohen assured Trump that a PAC making an in-kind contribution to cover Trump's personal financial obligations was 100% above board and legal.

2018-08-10 05:57:03 PM
So, they've got a boiler-plate 'fill-in-the-blanks' hush money form for people Trump didn't have sex with, too.

The story about him being paid every month came out a while ago, and I think that's definitely hush money

If paid by the Trump company, then yes. But that won't save him from a supaena. Unless he gets up and takes the fifth.

You probably don't want to know exactly what the full "benefits" of taking Trump hush money is, but I'm sure they aren't very beneficial.

If he is being paid off, I genuinely wonder who the bodyguard had to rough up and why.

Fifteen grand a month and you can afford your own health insurance. That's about $180k a year.

I think that someone having been around Trump enough to hear everything he said and did is reason enough to pay hush money

Much more likely he would be paid off to keep his mouth shut about Trump's activities and associations.

Tawdriness aside, and neglecting the fact that you yourself may have committed minor crimes, imagine earning that kind of cabbage just by walking out to the mailbox. Live on $5K/mo, bank the rest. 'Cause some day (soon?) the spigot will shut off. Then what happens? I suppose there's a signed NDA, but what happens when the money stops flowing? If, deities willing, the whole Evil Cabal comes tumbling down, you might be able to end up "winning" on both ends. The devil's in the NDA details I guess.

Speaking of which, isn't Stormy's next court thing pushed out a bit, but within the next couple of months? One-time payments are for chumps, Steph! Should have gotten a recurring!

Funny thing is if there was some mystery hush money on the Democrats side I'm sure they would be a lot less blatant about it.  Part of what is really galling about the Trump admin is they don't even try to hide how completely corrupt they are.  They remind me of stupid mafioso's in movies who constantly brag about the crimes they are commuting.

There's no devil in a White House NDA. It's unenforceable due to a little thing called the first amendment to the constitution.

An NDA with the RNC is another matter entirely. The RNC is a private organization, not a government entity, so an NDA covering your employment there is enforceable (assuming it's executed properly and conforms to the relevant laws).

It doesn't need to be shown. The RNC is a private organization. They can pay their employees whatever they want and not ask for any actual work in return. It's more likely that the bodyguard is a consultant, not an employee. It makes everything even easier. They can hire consultants, pay them whatever they want, and just shrug when they get nothing in return. Yeah, the consultant didn't deliver, nothing we can do.
