What if we really are the only intelligent life in the Universe?  I know it doesn't play out mathematically, but what if we really are alone or we're the first ones?

We are trying our best to average back to the mean as fast as we can, dude.

We apologize to the Universe for the error of being so presumptuous.

Surrounded? Like maybe the solar system is part of a molecule?
We may be part of something bigger.
And we are killing the atom we live on.

As above, so below. It's a standard rule, as evidenced by people's inability to distinguish between Robert Pattinson's face and foot, and Donald Trump's face and butt.

Couldn't we have had a Forbes link for this?

Have you never seen the "rate my b hole" website or whatever it's called?

BTW, isn't the density some tiny amount that is darn close to vacuum?

We're passing through a 30 light year across gas cloud and there's a bow shock formed by our moving star and the solar wind - particles that our sun ejects that are meeting that gas cloud.

Here's the bow shock of BZ Cam, a binary system 2500 light years away;

This cannot be true.  I remember chemistry class hydrogen is very light.  Wouldnt it just float way.

I'm sure we'd make awesome First Ones. Aeons from now, when we have passed beyond flesh and become pure meme energy, some young space-faring race will awaken us from our long slumber as they pass through our ancestral star system.

We will appear before them in our collective form, massive as a moon and radiant against the glittering dark:

And they will tremble before us. Though some of them will probably snicker too, and that's okay.

Or the last...the very, very, very last ones. The little remaining clippings that are just about to drift away and dissolve into the all encompassing nothingness.

Yeah sorry that was me. I knew that last sausage wasnt too clever.

Well now that's just depressing.  I won't have it.  I will not have it!

Relax. A wall around Florida will be next.

So, how many atoms per cubic centimeter in this wall, 10 or 100 million?

/ and who paid for it?

NASA discovers that our solar system is surrounded by a hydrogen gas force field, presumably to prevent us from infecting the rest of the universe

Hydrogen is an element, it doesn't make force fields. It may accumulate where there is a change in the magnetic fields, such as the point where the sun's magnetic field is balanced by the galactic magnetic field though.
