1: Take her to Chili's for the "Two for $20" on the first date.
2: Take her to Texas Road House for the "Two for $25" for the second date.
3:  Take her sailing on thee 'ol skin boat to Tuna Town on the third date.

//<narrator's voice> there is no third date

My last girlfriend had me saved in her phone contacts under "free food."

So if I'm an Incel do I just not worry about the cost of a date because the girl should pay for the privilege of being around me?

FTFA: To determine the cost of a date in each state, 24/7 Wall Street constructed an index based on measures related to dating expenses in all 50 states. The index was applied to the national average cost of the typical date, consisting of a liter of wine, two movie tickets, and two restaurant dinners.

First, dinner for two with wine and two movie tickets sounds like a boring date.
Second, while there is no cap on how much you can spend on that, it sure as hell can be done for waaaay less than the quoted $230 for my state.
Third, and most importantly, who chose one liter of wine?  The typical box contains 3L or more. Or if you're weird and get wine by the bottle, the single-serve sizes are 750 mL. Why would you drink 1-1/3 bottles?

Stupid article makes no sense...

Where the fark are these people going that a date costs $100 or more? Are you trying to impress them with how much money you can spend? Good luck keeping that up for long.

Oh, and this one for Texas:
Date idea: Hit one of the Lone Star State's numerous rodeo events, with tickets ranging from around $50 to $150.

First off, in most cities the rodeo only comes around once or twice a year. Second, they last for hours. First dates are generally best kept to an hour or less unless it's with someone you already know well.

Take every figure in TFA and cut it in half.  On every first date that I have, the woman insists on paying for her half so that she has an excuse not to put out.

It's an average
... by state.

So for my state (CA) that's everything from the Hollywood Hills with their fancy cottages... to the San Ysidro (location of a US/Mexico border crossing that's affectionately also known as "san ya skid row").

$297 for NYS. That's not dinner and a movie. That's dinner and a Broadway show. With decent seats.

Nice touch to include a single date suggestion for an entire state.   I especially enjoyed that the suggestion for Kansas is "go to Missouri".   Yes, I know the zip line is in KCK.  But I don't think "Make your way through Kansas City, Kansas" is a good idea for a date, or at any other time.
