This is just nature, and really, Darwinism at work.

As long as he's just using his bare hands: Go ahead. Taunt the bison... But nobody help. And now, let the spectacle of nature in all its glory unfold!

I think it was likely the major fight in the hotel that caused him to deny bail.

Upsetting a bison, but otherwise not harming it, isn't cause to lock someone up.

Because it appears he's violently unstable.

I thought that bison punched a hole in the guy, but apparently he was well-mannered.

He possibly won't be out with the general populace anymore causing problems?.

What's your option?  Let him go?

Good Christ, "getting too close to a bison in the 1st degree while drunk" is grounds for arrest and withholding bail?  An average Vegas trip would get me a life sentence.

Let the first man who's never interacted with wildlife while drunk throw the first stone, and I will call him a basement dweller.

What kind of bison would be safe to let loose in public? And what was the ruling?

No, but it seems a bit extreme. Sounds like he might need a mental health eval.

It wasn't just the bison incident, although that was the cool headline.  He was engaged in a whole string of farkery and it was the totality of his idiocy that caused the withholding of bond.

The same thing they do with nuisance bears. Tranquilize him and drop him off deep in the wilderness. If he shows up again creating a nuisance in a populated area have him euthanized.

Being out on bond for funsies earlier in the week with conditions to remain sober and behave himself seems to have quite a bit to do with his detention.

Judges don't like it when you don't do what they tell you to do.

If that dipshiat had gotten the Bison more pissed off and it finished him off, or chased him, it would likely start going after anyone and anything else that was around. The video shows it was quite crowded and a choke point. The innocent people wouldve been sitting ducks.
Fark this guy. He has quite the history of poor choices and priors. Hes 55. He should know better. Even my dipshiat parents wouldnt do this level of asshatery when they were working on who could get the most DUIs.

He'll have a roof over his head and regular meals for a while, if nothing else.  He should have pulled this stunt just as summer was winding down, though.

He was likely denied bail because he has no permanent address or job. This means that he's a flight risk, and even if he wasn't going to flee, he has no way of receiving communications from the court and it would be extraordinarily difficult to find him for even something non-criminal. In short, the court probably thought the likelihood of him making it to court on time was extremely low.

And, to be honest, even if the court had granted a small bail, do you think he or someone else would've been able to pay it? Keeping the guy in jail is likely better for his health, too.

Because clearly there has been effort from society to convince him that he needs to get his shiat together, but he doesn't seem to be getting the hint.

Some people are harder to reach than others.

Well, I'm glad for the guy, but not at the expense of being fast and loose about who should get bail.  I mean, a threat to the public?  Really?  Based on taunting a bison?  But judges are going to do themselves.
