Jesus. More than just  standing by and watching it happen, the GOP is actively trying to destroy democracy.

It's been said before (by some wise farker I've forgotten) - if there's a close race, there will be a Green Party candidate nobody has heard of before and nobody will hear from again.

Don't worry.  It's just a ruse to divert attention away from the GOP's plan to kidnap all the election workers and replace them with piles of Trump™ Steaks™ at the polling places.

/One package free for every 'R' vote on the ballot.

When Sen. Jon Tester wins re-election I'd love for him to send Don Don a gift-wrapped box of Buffalo Patties to 1600 Pennsylvania Ave..

Nice try, President Asshole... You can try again in 6 years when you're in federal prison.

Green party congressional candidates are in districts: 1, 5, 7, 12, 13, 29, 34, 40, 43
According to wikipedia:

I'm pleasantly surprised that green party might only fark up one close race in california, but still, fark those guys.

That being said, if you're GOP and you REALLY want to piss off a liberal, vote green

They have been for a long time, its just that now they are either too stupid or lazy to hide it better.

I can't wait for a rehash of the thread a few days ago where people assured us that the Green party is the most principled party and is the future of civilization.

I love that the Green Party candidate recruitment drive was an email blast saying "Hey guys, who wants to run for office?"

I've been pointing this out in numerous threads, and I'm not by any means the first to notice. The GOP has been doing this for many years, it is not new.

And don't give me any of that bullshiat about "well you don't know all those votes would have gone to the Democrats instead" because it's farking stupid. Yes you do. The Republican party is a party of and for extremists, and extremists vote in lockstep. They just need to split up the vote of everyone else enough to win.

Not good enough? OK, how about this: Why the fark do you think the GOP spends millions of dollars doing this shiat and then most of the time.ends up winning elections where they do?!?!? Just coincidence?!?

When they said Green Party, the Green refers to Republican kickbacks, and certainly not the environment.

FARK the Green Party. Sideways. With a chainsaw.

2018-08-10 10:43:24 AM
Not surprised. Here at home a few years ago we used to have a little old Republican lady from friggin' Mequon who'd always run for something as a Democrat just to force a primary to happen and waste some of the Democratic party's efforts and resources.

Is it Maryland, W. Virginia?  Some such where the GOP candidate's staffers falsified signatures to get the 3rd party candidate on the ballot because they know it'll cost the Dems more votes.

I'd be shocked if there isn't a strategy memo encouraging members in close races to do this, just like voter suppression and gerrymandering are now part of the part platform.

Its just another example of how the GOP puts party before people.

This is how Trump won the primary. He went after the 30% of the absolutely batshiat insane primary voters and let the other 15 candidates split the remaining marginally batshiat insane primary voters. He was a minority in the party but the majority split their vote.

The Republicans are the greenest of candidates.  They love a free market environment.  That old growth forest probably wants to be cut down and turned in to hardwood floors.  That river loves sludge.  Loves it.

Oh?  Not that kind of green? Well, you libs need to work on your message.  That's all.

I've said this in another thread about the Green Party, but I'll say it here too. Ralph Nader is the only genuine candidate that party ever had. Ralph Nader actually has a history of consumer rights advocacy and enough accomplishments to run for public office. Although, shooting for the top job from the get go is a bit ridiculous. He should've run for House rep or something.

Voting for the Green Party of today just to make a point is making a dumb point. You didn't think Clinton was pure enough so you voted for an anti-vaxxer? Are you an anti-vaxxer? Do you really think someone who believes they are descended from space aliens is more qualified to represent than a Democrat that agrees with only 93% of what you believe?

2018-08-10 10:56:31 AM
Yes, set up a strawman candidate, have progressives "disgruntled" about the Democrats (AKA "stupid"), split the vote.

It's a good strategy. If it actually works.

This is old news from March.
Update: A Helena district judge kicked the Greens off the ballot citing faulty petitions, but the Montana Attorney General -- a Republican -- is appealing.

I don't see why not.

Farkers are always talking about Greens spoiling elections for D's (which their effects are severly overstated), why not play the subterfuge game and "buddy" up with L's? is it because D's consider themselves too pure and above the fray for that?
