Not to mention a commercial for McDonald's.

This comment at the bottom is great:

Supposedly, somewhere there's an alternate ending to E.T. where Elliot is probed and eaten by E.T.'s family at the end; his corpse is stuffed with Reese's Pieces to bring out the flavor. An E.T. Thanksgiving, I guess.

It is NOT ironically bad.

It's quite sincere and genuine in its badness.

Always the best.

There's some chatter that MST3k is going to do this movie.

Well, at least Mac and Me had far more laughs, and at least we all *knew* Mac and me was total garbage before you even bought the ticket. Even if you saw it in the theatre in the 80s.

Cinemassacre (the Angry Video Game Nerd Channel) just did a great video about Mac & Me.

Ah, yes. The movie that showed us where Spielberg farked up with E.T.

No musical dance number set at a McDonald's.

Has there ever been a movie that the studio realized was so bad that they dare not even release it Direct-to-home-Video, but did want to get something out of their investment, and so released it Direct-to-MST3k?

Any nominations for movies that should've gotten that treatment?

(I nominate The Last Airbender.)

It really, REALLY bugged me that he didn't watch this when he was bored on house arrest in that one movie he was in recently. Would have been the perfect inside joke.

I do not know, but MST3K has gotten their hands on movies that were straight up never released. "The Dead Talk Back" was one such example. I can't think of others offhand.....

/Apparently MST3K started out by just buying the rights to huge packages of movies. I think film makers who don't want to release their film just try to sell the rights to someone, somewhere to make a dollar.

So there actually have been movies that premiered on MST3k? Lulz!
