I'm not a Vikings fan, but this still makes me chuckle:

We, as a sports culture, do not handle the NFL off-season very well.  I mean, it isn't like we aren't hot and heavy in America's Pastime season, and yet there is column space for navel-gazing like this.

I also think this writer forgets how good the Vikings looked headed to the NFC Championship and yet how, after that first drive, they looked like the teams that Alabama plays the week before the Auburn game every year.

After the NFL HQ sees these comments will they schedule a drug test for him?

Get over it.

I hate excuse making whiners.  Doubly so if they represent my own team.

The Patriots got spanked by a superior Eagle's team.  Great teams overcome single players not playing.  NE wasn't great that day.  The Patriots got outplayed by both Giants teams.  Great teams don't let fluke plays make the difference between winning and losing.  NE wasn't great on those days.

No one over the age of ten should be playing the "my team beat team B, and team B beat your team, so my team is better than your team" game... or the whole IF game in any way shape or form.

And to which SB are you referring?  The one in 2007 where Indy beat the Bears?

Gotcha.  I assume you are referring to the number of men in the huddle, which took them out of Longwell's kicking range.

At the time, I thought EITHER the Saints or the Vikings would have rolled Philly, because I really wasn't expecting Foles to step up big at all.

What I'm saying is, Kamara is wrong.

JIM FROM SAINT PAUL SMASSSSSSSSSSSSSSSH!

I am referring to Adrian's 3 fumbles, including one on the Saints GOD DAMN 5 yard line. The one Reggie Bush put on the ground.

I am referring to 2 of my receivers fumbling the ball as well.

I am referring to Ray Edwards, The Williams Wall and Jared Allen  (ALL IIN THE PRIME OF THEIR GOD DAMN CAREERS with 32.5 sacks that year) getting exactly ZER0 sacks in the game that mattered.

I am referring to 12 men in the huddle AFTER A MOTHER FRICKIN TIMEOUT FOR CHRIST SAKE.

I am referring to Brett Favre and his unwillingness to run 3 or 4 yards on a hobbled leg and dive on the ground.

I am referring to the refs KILLING US in OT with multiple game changing wrong calls.

I am referring to a lot.

Well, be fair.  The refs were letting the Saints kill opposing QBs that season.  See also, Kurt Warner, Peyton Manning.  I was rooting for the Saints in the Championship game (because they had never made it to a SB) until I saw all the cheap shots they were laying on Favre.  Pissed me off.  See also, Bountygate.

Nah. See the below:

Hobble a few yards, flop on the ground and call a timeout.

Hell, run out of bounds if you don't have a timeout left.

Multiple things:

*Why are you bringing up the Patriots? Like, they weren't even in the conversation really.

*So being down by 5 with 2 minutes to go in the game is "getting spanked" now?

*I can "what if" all I like. As a Vikings fan it's all I have had to live on for 50 years.

If you watched the Mariners allowing 22 runs in two games (11 runs in each) against Texas, you would understand where I'm coming from.  :-)

What a shiat show.

Granted, I am a Favre apologist, but the game should never have come down to that play. Favre did not lose that game, the entire team did. But for me, the most crucial play was when the Vikes were, IIRC, on the Saints 30 and driving. The Saints went high and low and Favre threw a pick. Now, the refs SHOULD have flagged the Saints, negating the pick and gaining enough yards to at least a kick a field goal. But instead, the Vikes turned it over. Yes, AP's fumble was equally disastrous, but if the Vikes kick the FG (or even score a TD there), they win the game.

While I think he is a great running back, I'm pretty sure his argument boils downs to:

Yea! And if my aunt had balls she'd be my uncle!

I will preemptively out myself as a lifelong Eagles fan.

Or if we just stop them on 4th down in OT we at least have a chance.

...We did?

Oh.

Vikings beat the Saints twice last year.  It just might be that they were a better team.
