Someone has to lose to the Warriors.

until the warriors become old and tired, whomever comes out of the east is doomed

So does anyone have Mr. Brown going down in the 3rd quarter of the first game with a blown MCL in the pool, yet?

The kids on the Celtics are constantly working hard on their game, they can say what they want.

It's hard to disagree with this, but if Curry and Durant's previously problematic wheels both get trouble at the same time, the East could produce a champ this year.  And the Dubs are going to lose Klay and/or Draymond after this season unless those guys agree to significantly smaller salaries than they could get from other teams.

Meh. Every team thinks they can make it to the finals, World Series, Super Bowl every year.
Every player in every sport thinks they're the best at their position.

When was the last time someone asked a player and they said "I suck"? Never.
I'm not sure why this still seems bold and surprising to people.

Yeah, I'd rather have someone wildly confident than a Jay Cutler.

Given what the rest of the East has done, I think the 76ers are the only threat. Both have very good young players getting better but the Celtics are also getting back injured stars. Advantage: Celtics

Celtics are pretty good, thats not so far fetched

Probably, and they probably wouldn't make it out of the first round in the West.

Oh they might make the finals, but they won't win

2018-08-09 01:35:52 PM
Since they are favored to do so, it's not really that much of a bold statement.

Milwaukee took Boston to 7, too.

Barring yet another (or even worse) injury run like this past season, the main threat to the Celtics is themselves, in the sense they are SO deep (particularly at smallish-forward/wing players) that Brad Stevens is going to have wear another wizard hat which prevents "guys who absolutely should be playing 30+ minutes a nights but aren't from getting upset".

My bet is Hayward is the one who better adjust to being a glorified 6th man. He probably starts but I have a feeling the Celtics would be better off closing games with both Tatum & Brown on the floor surrounded by some combination (choose 2) of Irving/Rozier/Smart and Horford or another big.

Last 3 seasons Boston has split with Golden State.  I like that Finals matchup better than the last 2 Cleveland teams.
I just don't like how Boston matches up with some other teams.

Why do you play Rozier or Smart over Hayward? Hayward is far better on both ends than Rozier, and Smart is probably better on D but he can't hit the side of a house with his jumper.

Hayward, Tatum, and Brown is a scary versatile wing grouping flanked with Irving and Horford, in 3 years they could give the warriors a run for their money. If Horford wasn't already over the hill.
