There's nothing to worry about kid.

I feel for the children of today. The reliance on unsustainable and nonrenewable technology as the basis for human industry party *will* come to an end in their lifetimes, if the pig ignorant thin-skinned adults of this world don't self destruct first.

If I had to raise a child under current circumstances, I'd move to Alaska. They don't have a Blockbuster there anymore, but we'll manage.

/But on the plus side whale meat.

35 people at the rally. Stop the presses.

The kid should learn about how to survive in the world and sell some lemonade if the oppressive state allows kids to do such things these days.

Four kids? Well, their parents have doubled the replacement rate and SHOULD feel guilty about the carbon footprint their crotch fruit represents. That they're misguidedly politically active doesn't cancel out the irresponsible reproduction and polluting of their child's mind.

Nice scrapbook material though, and maybe it will get the kid into an even more expensive college curriculum his breeder parents have to pay for resulting in a useless degree in saving the world with wind power.

They intend to entomb us with them.

I bet they're not even vegan, farking hypocrites! Ha ha! Roll coal, baby.

Seriously though, good for this kid. Even if people barely lift a finger to help it's still helping. Most people are too selfish and stupid to actually do things that matter like cutting their carbon footprint, eating less meat, or ending the use of plastics. Not going to shiat on a kid for trying to make the world a better place.

Wondering how long until Alex Jones says they are the same crisis actors kids who supposedly died during some latest school shooting(s) (and show some super grainy picture supposedly proving his point)?

How many people have been to your rallies?  Internet comment threads do not count.

I can't imagine being 12 years old and worrying that the air would not be breathable when I grew or that I'd die in a school shooting before I grew up.

When I was 12 I was hanging out in arcades and pretending I liked the taste of beer to be cool (it eventually grew on me)

Good for them!

You're never too young to learn that nothing you do makes a difference.

*Update*

Riot police have been dispatched. A Mass Casualty unit from downstate is being flown in. A firebombing has been reported at the Twist N' Creme Ice Cream drive through.

We spoke with Stacey Olimar, a local teachers aid who helped him with the Facebook announcements for the march, who says everything was was fun and heartwarming before it took a sinister turn.

"Things changed once he started leading the march off the main street. I thought it was weird, but I didn't think much of it. He has some friends that live in that part of town, and maybe he was getting them to join us. He had us all stop outside the Credit Union. He put on a black balaclava, and told the other kids to start grabbing rocks from the parking lot. That's when I started to worry. He started getting really loud, and angry, I haven't seen a kid his age act like that before. "You're making this planet sick, America. I am the fever!", or "You will burn before you burn this planet, you worse than senseless worms!" and "Hail Gaia!". I knew it was a bad idea to let them watch An Inconvenient Sequel in school."

Article:  12 year old wanted a rally because he saw one on Instagram, so his parents organized one for him.

As usual in "young kid does XYZ" articles.

Nice job, illustrating that the kid wouldn't know how credit unions work either.

Oh boo farking hoo. When I was your age we had drills because some moron thought crawling under a desk would protect us from nuclear annihilation. So the environment is going to be farked in 50 years. Get a helmet.

Get a bigger crowd with a pro global warming rally in upstate NY, they get a nice big 2' pile of climate change every winter.

Nuclear was an interesting but potentially fatally flawed alternative when the only choices were coal, gas, and hydro.  Back in the 50's, 60's, 70's, 80's, 90's and early 00's.

We have solar and wind now. Much better.  OMG better. Sorry, but nuclear, as well as coal, are going to die a slow death of obsolescence.

Well, might as well start young. My plan's to die or move to Alaska before Middle Earth becomes a super-sauna.

You do know that Alaska and the Siberian tundra are going to be the main sources of catastrophic methane release, right? Better choose wisely between cow farts or earth farts.

We're so farked. I'm going to enjoy observing the coming extreme weather until I die, because humanity isn't going to change enough to alter climate change. I'll eat a steak and watch those hurricanes and noreasters roll on by before I die.

Well I guess I'll go south instead and hope I don't run into any shoggoths. I've always wondered what penguin tastes like.

Siberia. Alaska, not so much because most of it was scraped clear by the glaciers 18,000 years ago.
