Yay! Early Caturday.
Told the Vet's office if they had a cancellation to give me a call, so that Eli could be seen sooner rather than later. I thought that he was looking thinner, and he is mighty gimpy in the hind..turns out that he has arthritis in his spine. So, we re going to try the Cosequin first, and if that edoes not ease him up, then we will think about prednisone..I am hoping the Cosequin does the trick for him. -Vet says because using the box is painful for Eli, he associates it with "ow". So hopefully he will stop poopin outside the box if he feels better.

Welcome to Caturday Everyone!

Nathan went in for a checkup yesterday and I'm sad to report that the news is not good. It seems the disease is now taking over. They performed an ultrasound and his stomach wall has thickened considerably. In addition there's another area in his abdomen (mesentery) that is showing signs of disease. We're discontinuing chemotherapy and will be treating him with steroids and anti nausea meds from here on. I'm not sure how much time we have left but you can bet that we'll continue to pamper the shiat out of him.

Hey everybody! Been kind of laying low this week because I'm a little depressed. Mostly I'm depressed over the fact that I have friends from around the world who still have U2 concerts to look forward to and mine are done for the next three years. Withdrawal from your favorite band is a real thing.

I'm also just not feeling like doing anything these days. I just have no motivation or energy. So I'm going to start with an update on the critters in our house and see what happens from there.

Scarlett is doing rather well. She can be a rather fickle Kitty though. One night she's all over me and sleeping snuggled up next to me and the next night she is doing the same thing with Daddy. I think she's a little angry with me though because I've been trying to get her to wear a collar. I laid it over her neck without buckling it and she was not happy. Now I just show it to her every night before sleep time so she can check it out and make up her own mind about when she's ready to wear it. She's also incredibly vocal. One night she was actually yelling at my husband about something. Of course we have no idea what it was or what she's trying to say to us. A lot of the time you can tell from context what they mean but she is just full of sass.

The Corgi is not doing as well. She's starting to slow down significantly. She supposed to take her pain medicine and her cough tablet twice a day. I've been crushing it up and putting it in a pill pocket for her and this morning she was not able to eat the pill pocket. So that means that she did not have her morning meds. Her nighttime meds usually go in with her dinner. We've switched her over to squishy wet food that is specifically for her kidney failure. We can't figure out if her teeth are hurting, if she has some arthritis in her jaw or if it's just old age. She's drinking really well and for the most part is still happy and smiling. She likes the new food very well so it shouldn't be a problem to hide some crushed up pills in it.

When she stops smiling and stops supervising everything that we do then we'll know that her time is getting close. Our first Corgi stopped eating for five days and we knew it was time then. Corgis just don't stop eating. Anyway Gypsy is currently 15 1/2 years old and has had a good run. I think I need to start preparing myself for the inevitable. Corgis can be very stoic about things that are wrong with them. So when Servo went downhill, he went downhill fast. I have a feeling that it will be the same with gypsy. At least we have Scarlet 2 continue with the Critter love here in the house. We have a little more work to do on the house and once that's done then we will start working on getting Scarlett to come downstairs.

Anyway just the weekly caturday check in for me. Looking forward to seeing what all gets posted in the thread this week. No new pictures of Scarlett this week sadly. Maybe I'll try to take a couple tonight or tomorrow to add to the cute factor of a caturday thread

Best of luck that the Cosequin will help (I'm pretty sure it will, just be patient!) and that being said, is it maybe time to transition Eli to maybe being an indoor only kitteh? I'm sure he would not be pleased but it would be a lot less stressful on his body not having to jump and climb and hunt and bring you ... presents. Just a thought ☺

Meanwhile, despite much effort (and trial and error), I'm still having major computer issues, so apologies in advance if I'm not here as much as usual this weekend.

Foster kitteh update: my kidlets seem to have completely recovered from their spay/neuter surgeries, and will be going into their very first adoption event this weekend! I'm kinda torn as to whether or not I want to describe them as a bonded pair (they do love to play together, but my gut feeling is that Honey would be fine without having her ears bitten every five minutes, and Snickers would be open to tormenting any other feline within reach).

I have new pics, but due to the aforementioned computer issues they will have to wait till tomorrow. And while I love these two little furballs, I really hope they get adopted this weekend as I can NO LONGER STAND THE STENCH THAT COMES OUT OF THEIR TINY LITTLE ASSHOLES!

Cute kitteh story; My Mom's new overlord is a very large black cat. His name is Slim, and we think he may be a Havana Brown. He is scary smart, and uber affectionate. Anyhoodle, Mom and I shop on our trip up the the cottage. Big honkin outlet center. We knew we were going to have Slim, and we'd been talking about a stroller for him..So, got with Amazon, I have prime, and got one. Slim was not freaked out by it, jumped in, out etc. Fast forward to the mall..we put him in, he just rolled with the times. We get to the cottage. He whines because we are out on the deck. So I tell him, "Want out?" Tap the edge of the stroller. He jumps in and off we go. Here he is mid-yawn in the stroller

Good evening everbuddy, Happy Purrsday.  My sister called earlier this week, said she wanted to go out and play Quickdraw.  Dinner and a few whiskeys later, and I spend ten dollars to get three dollars back.

My sister spends ten dollars to get nine fifty back, and doesn't do anything more complicated than playing the numbers of her birthday date.
