Art of the Deal seems to be have a public temper tantrum and then brag that you miraculously achieved the status quo. "The dealer wanted $23,995 for the car but I yelled, I kick the trash can, I through papers around and you know what? He saw he was dealing with a stable genus and lowered his price to $23,995. Very few people could do that, trust me."

I wouldn't be surprised if Europe started increasing defense spending drastically anyways for the next time the US pulls bullshiat like this.

They should put Trump in a bind, increase their defense spending drastically immediately, be more prepared for the next set of bullshiat and give Russia a giant fark you to their plans.

Then maybe the US can elect someone who isn't King Nero and we can go back to appreciating our allies and shiat. But with Donnie Dotard chomping at the bit to do everything Putin wants it'd be neat if NATO got stronger and more prepared.

Imagine if the whole EU just spent a bunch of money arming the Balkans and Eastern EU states.

And they should do it with the stipulations that the US imposes those sanctions on Russia congress ordered them too and withdraws all these bullshiat tariffs.

The shame is that Trump has successfully disrupted NATO's ability to do strategic planning.
That said, if I were one of the non-US partners in NATO, I'd probably be surreptitiously increasing my defense budget beyond Trump's requests.

There's a scene in the Chris Rock "Comedian in Cars Getting Coffee" where he talks about how some kids need to be bullied.  I think Trump needed to be bullied as a kid.

I'd be very vocally dropping or maintaining mine and demanding more US troops within my borders just to fark with dotards reelection chances.

I hear we're still paying more in to the coffers that the other League of Nations members are paying.  Wanna go after that one?

What you pay is based on the size of your economy. This isn't breakfast at Denny's with friends.

I think it was more "I made sure the dealer charged everyone else the same amount I paid. WHAT A YOOGE VICTORY I'VE SCORED FOR US!"

The US president's outburst led to the scrapping of a series of press conferences and bilateral meetings as European leaders struggled to respond. The British prime minister, Theresa May, and the German chancellor, Angela Merkel, cancelled press conferences.

So. Much. Winning.

Thanks for electing the guy who breaks the world farkwads. When even your allies start thinking you are the biggest threat to the world perhaps it is time to rethink.

I think the majority of the world knows the answer already

If only...

The US has always been the biggest threat to the world, we just restrained ourselves. Now the tiger is out of the cage. One time I was in Italy and overheard some British tourists joking with some Canadian tourists that "at least they're not American." Oh yeah? You thought we were bad before? How about now?

MAGA!(?)

I would still like to think that Americans travelling abroad that aren't acting out the "Ugly American" stereotype will just blend in and be recognized as one of the good ones. I haven't been overseas for a while so this is all from old memories.

"So now we're very happy and have a very powerful, very, very strong NATO. More powerful than it was two days ago," Trump told reporters in Brussels Thursday.

Yeah.  I'm sure throwing a temper tantrum in front of world leaders, making bizarre false allegations about how they are Russian puppets and owe you money, and then holding a press conference afterwards claiming that none of that happened and everything is great now made NATO stronger.

Well, on the other hand, NATO members don't vote for president, so their opinions don't really count.

Well, a lot of nations like the Germans and Japanese have to start thinking about getting their own nukes. Their non-nuclear status was always based under a commitment to keep them under the U.S. nuclear umbrella.
Now that we have a rogue/clown "President" who cannot be counted on to honor any agreement or meet any prior commitments, they should probably act as independent agents in these regards in future.
The U.S, is no longer a likely promise keeper.

Don't forget raising the rent on US military bases.

At his meeting in Finland Putin is going to mention in passing how much money Russia saved by leaving the Warsaw pact and remind Trump that the Europeans are laughing and saying mean things about him. We'll be out of NATO in a week.

How can you tell when he is "extremely unhappy" and when he isn't? He always wears what he thinks is his Strong Man face, that makes him look like Jabba the Hut with extreme constipation. He always sits leaning forward as if he's in discomfort. He nearly always stands with his arms folded, indicating unease.

He is always extremely unhappy, as far as I can tell. The only other expressions I've seen since this mess started (and this was back during the campaign) was one of his smirking attempts at what he thought was a smile, but comes across as the face a schoolyard bully makes when he knocks down somebody half his size and makes them cry. His posed "smiles" look about as realistic as a wax dummy.

I read that they actually do vote, illegally, like, thirty-five million times apiece, and Dear Leader still won a historic election that Hillary totally should have won but lost because she's a loser and such like as.

Donald Trump has claimed victory at the NATO Summit today, announcing that all of the allies have agreed to capitalize all four letters in "NATO" from now on, and not spell it backwards like some of those shiathole countries keep doing.
