Why couldn't my sister have let guys pee on her?  She really let our family down.

Just think of it.   All this came from a "leaked" sex tape of her sister, who prior to that was a hanger on with a semi-famous name from her father and was "friends" with Paris Hilton.

America!

I take exception to the 'self-made' part, she's gotten where is she by standing on the shoulders of her family.

That being said, I can't fault her for taking advantage of her situation.  She could have easily done nothing and lived off of the family money for her entire life, so at least she has some gumption.

It wouldn't have been possible for her to start the company and achieve such rapid success without the fame of family name and the seed money and investments that came along with it, but she does seem to have an knack for marketing.

Family biz really went into the stratosphere with her older sister's sex tape.

Family values laughing all the way to the bank.

Suckers are willing to give her money. Lots of them. She should take advantage while she can.

Yes, there are rich kids who have coasted on their families fortune.

But there are those who can take that advantage, and work hard enough to make some serious money by their own merit.

Paris Hilton did this well.

It's not the accruing of wealth that bothers me.

It's the unwillingness to do anything positive with the vast amount you have hoarded and it being the result of promoting and selling of products with the message that you're not good enough for anyone unless you buy this.

2018-07-12 07:18:59 AM
She didn't get this money from her family though family money might have helped start her business. This money comes from her make-up line which only started 3 years ago and has made something like 680 Million in that short amount of time. That plus coupled with investments is what is putting her at the $900M mark.

Other than jealousy I really don't understand the hate here. She capitalized on her fame and created a company thatprovides goods to people who want them. Now if she were in the news because she was a billionaire AND said some racial slurs while cutting her employees hours in order to avoid paying health benefits, I could understand that. But hating on someone who is young, attractive, and successful JUST for being young, attractive, and successful doesn't really make sense to me. If she's paying her employees well and hustling to make money, then good on her.

She doesn't have "almost" a billion dollars. She owns a company that has in total sold $630 million worth of product. I don't know what the profit margin is on $30 lipstick kits but it can't be high enough to justify the $800 million estimed worth in the article. I'm also wondering about the claim in the article that she owns "100%" of the company. While it's possible all the start up capital came from her tv earnings, it's higjly unlikely that a teenager knew enough about the comesmetics industry (manufacturing, supply chains, marketing, ext) that she didn't required a team of experienced business folks getting shares in the company.

You really think she "started" a make up line?  Other than letting her name and likeness be used, any actual "work" she put into this was limited to picking out which colors she liked best, if that.

You speak as if you have insider knowledge of this. You may be right, but you really have no idea how hard (or not hard) she works for the brand.

The hate directed at her isn't personal. It's that she is a representation of the superficial, reality tv-based society we find ourselves in. Free thought, individualism, exploration has all been flushed for the instant gratification, 30 second soundbite, 140 character update, social platform we exist on.
It's how you get the Kardasians, it's how you get Trump.
Society is doomed.

My wifey informed me that Jenner wasn't really one of the 'famous' sisters bc she looked like a Sasquatch. Then she surgeried herself, looks a million times better, and now can show young girls they can improve their looks, gets one trillion instagram followers who all buy her makeup kits.  Sounds like a solid plan!

The numbers are all made up, not verified by Forbes and supplied by Kris Jenner.

People lie on the internet. Particularly about business. How many times do you need to be duped to understand this?

I am going to go against the grain here and say good for her. People have different strengths and skills in life. We champion intellect. We cheer on physical ability in our athletes. But beauty? Nope she is just a whore! And lets be clear its SHE. When its a guy we don't say the same thing.
Sounds like a lot of fuglies here on Fark are jealous.

If people want to throw money at her and her family via products with their name on it and $80/year thrown at their mobile fashion game, then more power to them. All purchases, jobs, money exchanges of any kind come down to convincing someone else to give you their money. I've never watched their show nor am I a fan but that doesn't change the fact that the Kardashian's excel at this.
