Coelacanth: Hopefully for the survivors Eugene knows how to make toilet paper.

One of the biggest "suspension of disbelief" moments was in season one when they were raiding that abandoned pharmacy and there were still rolls of toilet paper on the shelves.

Those would be the first things I'd loot and set myself up as the post-apocalypse warlord. "WHO RUN CHARMINTOWN? MASTER ASSTER RUN CHARMINTOWN!"

Fake picture. They borrowed horses and wagons from some other set to take a joke photo.  Every single horse that has showed up on the show has been eaten within 5 minutes of appearing and they just stand there and let the walkers eat them.  No way could they last long enough to get hitched up.

The WD equivalent is either "Stayed at the farm" or "Batted the head" depending on how much idiocy-for-drama one could stand.

The show died years ago, but it keeps on shambling around aimlessly.

Because they did this on Westworld before Walking Dead did it in the comics.

He'll come home from his construction job and Coral will have been imagining the entire story in a snow-globe. And his wife will be Suzanne Pleshette.

I gave up on the show when Carl died.

I didn't give up because Carl died, but because I didn't care that Carl died.

I did actually end up watching the second half of the season when my partner was out of town and I needed to keep my mind distracted, but I honestly couldn't tell you much of what happened.  I'm pretty sure Negan's still alive, because I'm confident I'd recall the feeling of joy had he died, and I think Eugene is a good guy again, but that's pretty much all I could tell you.

I won't be going back to the show again; next time I'm in a similar need for something to watch, I'll start The Expanse or Westworld or something.

\The only aspect I find I actually miss is Christian Serratos on Talking Dead.
\\She's quite a lovely looking lady, and she dresses fantastically.

Is it asking too much for the series finale to be whoever is left completely overwhelmed and torn to pieces by a hug pack of zombies, making every action the survivors had done completely pointless?

Pretty much what every single TWD/FTWD is.  The show has its flaws, to be sure, but if the Fark viewer (or rather, former viewer) was indicative of the average viewer, the show would have been off the air long ago.

I dunno - sure, there are the 'I stopped watching 30 seconds into the first episode' "jokers" but the livethreads have seemed to be getting less and less sparsely populated over the past few years.

And the livethreads are really more indicative of current watchers than threads like these - as a former watcher, I'll join threads like these, and commiserated with my fellow recovering former fans.

Hi PlaidJag, pleased to meet you.

I've viewed this show from the first season, and during the last season I watched myself evolve form  looking forward to it (despite the flaws) to watching it for completists sake.  I fear that this series will end without a wrap-up due to declining ratings.  And I don't want to invest any more time into a story without a coherent finish.  I blame Breaking Bad for this.

I truly don't know if I will watch the next season.  I'll just assume everyone gets on with rebuilding civilization now that Negan is captured and the Trash Romulans are all dog food, but a final wave of zombies wipes them out.  But I will check the Fark threads, and if the comments are "ZOMG, they're great again!" I will probably check out an episode or two.

That's actually the last episode I watched too and for a similar reason - except I was actually glad he died because I hated everyone on the show. So I thought, why keep watching a show about people I hate?

That's an entirely reasonable concern, given that the comic is still ongoing, and the show is more set up as a soap opera where they can simply continue killing off characters and bringing in new ones and keep it going for decades.  That's also part of why I stopped watching - it became obvious there is no end-game.  There will be no resolution.

Fortunately, there's plenty of British TV that does include a satisfying conclusion.

No. There is no way a horse would be that domesticated enough to tolerate a zombie biting it, If the writers really expect you to believe that, the dumbing down started a long long time ago.

I wouldn't even lay bets on a horse trained by mounted division in city police forces.
