I hope they watered it.  It's important to water sod after it's laid.  Did they have hoses handy?

But did they fix the cable?

HOA's suck. Just sayin'.

Long ago, my then wife passed out, when she had the flu, and thumped her head on the floor.  Within minutes 30 or so volunteer town responders were there, parking on the lawn, clogging up the road so the ambulance had a hard time getting through.  They left my lawn a mess.

The cosmic scales are once again in balance.

/No, I don't believe in that stuff.

Before anyone comes in here sayin' those guys spent taxpayer money on some rando's lawn... we normally pay them to just sit around drinking coffee and washing their trucks while waiting for a call.

They didn't know that my husband pawned his favorite gun to pay for the sod that he thought was going to die.

And thus concludes another thrilling episode of Things You Only Hear In America.

Imma have a heart attack and get the first responders to cut my yard and weed eat and edge.  It's hot outside, yo.

They finished laying Sod! They should have asked if she has a sister or friend, maybe leave Sod alonealo he could finish her when he got out of the hospital.
Very impolite.

Hero?  Or nice day, tired of sitting around inside, and no other calls?

Very nice thing they did, but probably not Thai SEAL diver hero.

Where were these guys when I was hit by a truck? I could have used a little compassion, instead of cold indifference and dickishness. I was just hit by a truck and started having a panic attack. Sorry, but getting hit by a truck while walking in a crosswalk just might cause somebody struggling with anxiety to lose her shiat. Telling me to calm down isn't exactly helpful, assholes!

It wasn't noted in the headline, but this happened in Florida.  We've got some good EMTs down here.

Do they do windows?

I'm not entirely surprised when paramedics/firemen return to help-out with things like yard work, snow removal, or even just putting away tools and such after the patient has been taken care of.

Their jobs are often ones of huge swaths of boredom punctuated by moments of borderline panic. Most of the time they're not putting out fires, or resuscitating people, they're idle in their formal capacity, waiting for the phone to ring. They do have some tasks to do, like tending to their personal equipment, washing the fire truck, that sort, but there's only so much that one can do of these tasks. They do community outreach, visit schools and show kids the fire trucks, some places even use them for some kinds of civil code enforcement like fire codes and handicapped parking violation ticketing, but even still, there's a lot of time to kill between emergency calls.

So helping out a guy that's had a heart attack to put away his tools or help finish his yard work or snow removal seems like a good way to kill some time before the next call comes in.

Nah, they're all Linux zealots.

Next week:
HOA fines couple for having unauthorized workers in yard as well as their vehicles parked in street.

Are they the firefighters from the calendar? Are there higher definition pictures? Preferably with their shirts off.

This will soon be the reality of Trump's America as in the future the country will be run like an HOA.

That's only if you live in some Podunk town.  Where I live two of the five stations are closed due to lack of money.   Most of the time the trucks are just going from call to call.

Don't forget the Home Owner Association (they may have them elsewhere but I always hear Americans complaining about them.)

So dying is a requirement now?

There was more than one.  They were all heroes.
