I'm looking forward to seeing Ryan Ottley's art on Spiderman. And I'm not usually one to even notice who the artist is on books I read.

I tried to subvert the obvious choice, but yeah.  Handi-Man was the clear number one.

It seems that Peter and Mary Jane might be getting back together.

Did we have a thread last week? Cuz boy, I wanted to talk about Batman 50 and how it has the rare schodringer's rating: it's equally good and bad.

They're making it seem that way but it could just be a red herring.

I'm a bipolar superhero, but I'm only good half the time.

I will say IDW has done a great job with the Transformer franchise.

Got red lit.  I was just happy the wedding arc was over. The last few issues have been terrible. in fact, most of Tom Kings run has been overrated.

can't believe the comic has one of the best character moments in Bruce and Alfred hugging... and then gives us this shiat of Knightfall 2: Emotional Boogaloo, with gotham girl, skeets and thomas wayne as part of bane's evil plan somehow

Now is a great time to be reading X-Men Blue.

-The O5 are about to go home permanently, ending the series and culminating in the "Extermination" mini.
-Magneto heel turn promises to be epic.

And that Ottley has turned MJ into Atom Eve.

The entire issue was spent establishing a new status quo. They're obviously going with a "back to basics" approach. I have no idea why Peter (a genius level inventor that owned his own company) suddenly needs to share an apartment with 2 roommates. Or why he's taking college courses. but I don't care. I'm just hoping this ends up being a Spiderman comic I can actually follow instead of devolving into the mess that Spiderman has been the last 10 years or so.

Yep, even in the middle of what was obviously going to be more Tom King in love with his own pen, that Alfred moment was truly great.

because he ruined his own company, and heck, that company fell into his lap in the first place.

Ah. I haven't been following. Because of Spiderman, Ultimate Spiderman, Female Spiderman, Other Female Spiderman, Spider Island, Spiderverse, etc, etc. I'm hoping this stays relatively self-contained and I don't have to spend $30/month to follow it. If not, I can a good enough Spiderman fix from Renew Your Vows.

William Gibson's Unproduced "Alien 3" Screenplay to Be Adapted Into Comic

Dark Horse Comics will publish Johnnie Christmas' adaptation starting this November.

A lost piece of cinema history is about to be rediscovered by Dark Horse Comics. Ahead of next week's San Diego Comic-Con, the publisher has announced that it will be releasing a miniseries adapting the unproduced original screenplay for "Alien 3 "by acclaimed science-fiction author William Gibson.

The screenplay, which Gibson wrote in 1987 based on existing treatments, was eventually replaced amid the extensive development process for the movie, and tells a story entirely different from the eventual movie released in 1992; for one thing, Sigourney Weaver's Ripley was sidelined almost completely, with two of the characters from James Cameron's Aliens shouldering the brunt of the story: Bishop (Lance Henriksen) and Hicks (Michael Biehn).

"William Gibson's 'Alien 3'", as the series will be called, will be adapted by writer-artist Johnnie Christmas, with colors from Tamra Bonvillain.

In a statement released to CBR.com, Gibson said, "When your first contracted screenplay (or screenplay of any kind, in my case) isn't produced, but the film is eventually made with a different screenplay, retaining nothing of yours but a barcode tattoo on the back of a character's neck, the last thing you ever expect is to see yours beautifully adapted and realized, decades later, in a different medium, by an artist of Johnnie Christmas' caliber. It's a wonderful experience, and I have no doubt that Johnnie's version, which adheres almost entirely to the script, delivers more of my material to the audience than any feature film would have been likely to do."

This isn't the first time Dark Horse has adapted an unproduced screenplay for comics; in 2013, Mike Mayhew and J.W. Rinzler adapted George Lucas' original draft of the "Star Wars" screenplay as the eight-issue "The Star Wars" miniseries.

"William Gibson's 'Alien 3'" will launch Nov. 7, 2018
