Plenty of toxic books at Goodwill, especially a few weeks after a surprise storm wets garage sale offerings.

My first job out of high school was managing an occult bookstore. I got the job because I love books and the only fulltime resident handy. I wasn't an expert by any means and I had to learn things as I go. One of the first things I learned was to keep some of our oldest books locked up in the display case at all times and only handle them while wearing late  gloves. I've heard of poisoned books before, but never saw any until now. I'm wondering if I ever sold somebody a boobytrapped book.

Cadmium makes an awesome yellow. Lead does as well, but it oxidizes black after a while.
