So...the guy catches the couple in the car unconscious. Does he turn off the car and open the garage door and to vent the fumes and possibly save them?  Of did he go back into the house, enjoy a cold, refreshing beer or two to calm his nerves and then call the cops?

How long does it take to fill a garage with carbon monoxide?  I think the stink of combustion would have alerted them.  The house is right there, why do it in the garage? As mentioned above, a mechanic that runs a car in a closed garage?  The husband discovered the bodies and the police arrived to find the car still running? I'm just asking questions here.  Oh, and one more thing...

They could have been in the garage with it running before hand.. then "negotiating" over how to pay for it, etc, etc. Plus if they were really into it they'd be breathing in a greater volume in a shorter period of time.

CO poisoning can happen unnoticed, which is why it happens often.  There is no smell, and breathing it does not produce a choking sensation.  Symptoms like headache, dizziness and fatigue can be easily written off as coming from other things, especially while or right after doing the nasty in a cramped car.

So... put them in the car and put them into positions that are compromising enough to convince the cops they died in the act?  I guess I could never be a professional hit man, because I don't think I'd be willing to spend that much time "handling" and "arranging" certain things enough to convince the cops they died while having sex.

Did he use 5w30 or synthetic lubricant?

2018-07-10 04:57:40 PM
I thought most cars ran so clean nowadays that carbon monoxide poisoning was difficult to achieve in the average drafty garage.

Obviously it's possible, but would your garage have to be basically air tight?

I want to know what the age of the car was.  Modern car's co emissions are much less than they used to be, this whole situation at the very least merits lots of investigation and a proper tox screen on the deceased.

Eh. Drag both in the back seat. Pull pants down. You don't really have to arrange anything else because when the bodies go unconscious, they would just go limp. Like everything would so two bodies with any sort of orientation.

akede: They could have been in the garage with it running before hand.. then "negotiating" over how to pay for it, etc, etc. Plus if they were really into it they'd be breathing in a greater volume in a shorter period of time

2 things. A mechanic would know to have ventilation. And since when do mechanics do home calls, and even if you find one, wouldn't they need the garage open for access to their tools/truck?

I guess that was 3 things.
