Used to know people that would snort heroin "because it wasn't addictive that way."

/narrator: yes it is

There was a casino owner in Vegas that would only smoke heroin because he was afraid of overdosing.

I would think taking a needle out of the equation would at least make the delivery a little safer.

It was Ted Binion and that was the least weird thing about the story.

Course it does, but harm reduction isn't a language prohibitionists speak.

See also cigarettes vs vaping.

Of course humanity would be better off if there were no ways of using either drug, but since there are ways, why not admit one carries less risk? They simply cannot. It's an article of faith, a denial of fact.

You are just being dumb here for the sake of being dumb.  The study was about overdoses.  not slamming it does not affect overdose rates.

As for vaping v. smoking, they both have their trade offs.  Look up popcorn lung.

There actually isn't, "less risk."

Smoking - respiratory damage, addiction, possible overdose.
Injecting - addiction, infections, HIV, HEP-C, likely overdose, pulmonary embolism, vein scarring and loss of circulation..................

Uh, I think if you're going to do heroin, smoking is going to be easier on you than mainlining.

or maybe DO NOT DO HEROIN

Here's an idea for a study: Prohibiting heroin doesn't make it any safer.

You could compare death rates from heroin before it was illegal, to death rates after it became illegal.
