They should call it "The Ante".

never heard of the guy on the Giants.  if anyone needs to go it's samardzija.  theyd eat a lot of his contract but the guy has become a liability.  wasn't sad to see Jackson or gearrin go.

Never heard of the Cubs guy. I still wonder if they would try to get a #2 type starter for Schwarber. His defense has been solid, but not so much that they aren't pulling him for Happ or Zobrist if they're up late. Between Happ, Almora and Heyward, they're probably set at OF for 3-4 years. Maybe they get Bote some reps in left next Spring, have him and La Stella as multi position subs.

If the Doyers follow ESPN's advice, who will save Earf?

Meh.  They're just trying to show off that they've ever heard of these guys.

I don't understand the rush for the Pirates to get rid of Corey Dickerson.  He's been a bright spot in an otherwise disappointing campaign, he still has a year of arbitration before free agency, and he's not  costing them a fortune anyhow.  And of they couldn't get a decent return for Andrew Freakin' McCutchen, what are they going to get for Dickerson?  Some prospect they can roll the dice on in the hopes that they don't end up with another Gregory Polanco?

If anyone needs to go, it's Sean Rodriquez.  Not that anyone would really be interested.

I wouldn't want to see the Brewers trade Corbin Burnes for anyone except a controllable pitcher (i.e. deGrom) - not worth it for a rental especially this late. Of course you couldn't swap those two straight up, the Brewers would have to throw in a few more prospects.

Brewers have such a hard time developing decent pitching and it is at such a premium I don't know how you can let a promising one go for a rental position player. Doesn't make sense. I don't think it makes sense for Stearns either, I believe he's made it clear Burnes isn't touchable for Machado.

Heard this morning that the Brewers have said publicly that Corbin Burnes isn't going anywhere.

The Brewers are in a weird place right now. There's a sense that they're hitting their stride sooner than expected, a la the 2015 Cubs. In that case, making small moves like the Cubs picking up Dan Haren and Trevor Cahill in 2015 makes sense.

On the other hand, the 2018 Cubs are much better positioned to improve this year and next than the 2015 Cards and Pirates were. If the Brewers think they can win the division this season, it makes some sense to go all in now, because the Cubs have deeper pockets, and aren't likely to decline over the next few seasons.

Carson Kelly makes sense as a trade piece for the Cardinals. However, he didn't exactly do that great when he was in the majors, so unless a team REALLY needed a catcher he wouldn't be worth all that much. And it seems like teams are more interested in starting pitching right now anyway.

Willian Astudillo of the Twins to a contender.

I understand why the Rockies might trade CarGo, but I think they resigned him because it made Nolan Arenado happy and they want to keep Nolan Arenado happy.  The Rockies have outfield prospects ready to step in and start at the major league stuck in AAA except when someone goes on the DL.
