Darla is getting the hang of things. Haley, the Irish terrier... has zero problems with the new dog. Nigel, on the other hand, seems to be a bit wary when she gets into a playful mood. Darla also does not seem to understand much doggy verbal communication due to her being crudely debarked along with the other dogs she was rescued with. In general, they are fine, but I cannot leave them out and about together. She'll start to follow him around, he'll do a little growl and she won't get the message. So I just tell her that Nigel is not a toy. So if anyone has any thoughts or ideas, I'm all ears!

No no, the Dobermonster was crudely debarked. Also discovering: she likes socks.

I had to say goodbye to my one and only , Stella last Thursday. She was my rescue pup for 8 years, a skinny stray somehow even though she was full blooded black and tan coonhound. She was the most loving, gentle and mellow dog ever. Unless you were a small or not so small furry animal and then she became the thing engrained in her genes, a fierce, determined huntress who was relentless in her job.
She started refusing food a few weeks back, I initially put it off to picky biatchiness. But it persisted and long story short, she had a large abdominal tumor choking off her stomach and intestines.
We spent the 4th of July together, i cooked her chicken-thigh soup to not much avail, and I said goodbye on Thursday.
She was a grand dog. My heart is so badly broken...
This was the last photo i took of her, last Tuesday, the last time she was strong enough to look out her favorite window. Now I'm going to go cry again.

Hi, all. I missed last week, but I wanted to let you guys know that, on Monday, my foster cowgirl finally got her spay and entropion surgery! I will not post a pic, though, because she resembles Heath Ledger's joker right now. Once her face heals up a bit, I will show her to you all.

According to the dog, the bear was being a dick and wouldn't shut up.  I didn't ask for specifics and when I went to question the bear, most of his brains had been removed and scattered on the carpet.  The bear passed away shortly after.
At this time, I am still investigating the murder of the bear.  I have a strong circumstantial case, but no conclusive forensics to back it up.

Scary story, glad it had a happy ending.  There are actually a number of airlines that won't let brachycephalic breeds fly because of their increased chances of having breathing difficulties at altitude (commercial airline cabins are pressurized to 5,000 feet, not sea level).

My Vet specifically told us not to fly with our pugs, she said flat faced brachycephalic dogs should stay at home . We put them in a kennel and we don't have to worry about them dying mid flight.

OH! 10 week old Emma has the same face shape! So, she will be beautiful like Lucy when she grows up hopefully!  Emma gained 2.5 lbs in 2 weeks. The worming - nothing that ugly should come out of something that damned cute - thats all i'm sayin.  *shutters*  Thank Dog, the Dr took care of that!  Recheck in 2 weeks. She is still not allowed around other pets per the Dr. Sketchy birth history, parvo and distemper are a big problem here right now. The Dr said her immune system is not up to par and to wait until the puppy shots are further along.  She did make friends with the old guy up the street so visits him.
Was concerned about socializing her.

Hoover is doing well on his med for Pulmonary Fibrosis.  The coughing has calmed down for him.    He got me up in the middle of the night because he was in front of the sofa in the family room, barking (he wanted up).  I brought him to bed and he slept.  I had to move fast to keep my spot in bed. Now if I could just get rid of my cough.  (Bronchitis, I am on antibiotics now).
