Einstein wasn't really all that smart. Sure, he won an Olympic Gold Metal and discovered Pluto while he was writing Tom Sawyer, but now we know that Pluto is actually a star.

People asked me why I left my job. "When you tell someone over and over again that they are a genius with computers, eventually they start to believe it."

Self-esteem is a helluva drug.

/no, I'm not a genius with computers, I do seem to have a "gift," but I have a wide variety of those so whatevs
//what happens if you give an already-genius a genius's body?

I have a degree in psychology. Embittered by what I supposedly learned coupled with the lack of jobs that year at all the Fortune 500 psychology firms, I've come to find that neuroscience is valuable and separate and the rest of it is almost 100% nonsense.

Unverifiable results, sweeping conclusions unrelated to the data, a willingness to dismiss warranted criticism, and a reflexive defensiveness permeate it worse than bedbugs at a cheap motel. Psychologists have done more to advance statistics in their eagerness to appear legitimate than they ever have to advance their own field of study.

My paper delivery route as a kid did more to get my foot in the door with my current employer than my degree ever did (first job was Mail Clerk - guess delivering papers helped with the keyword search algorithm they used).

/my mother once asked if I had any of my old psychology textbooks and I asked why
//a friend of hers had a daughter interested in psychology and I refused to provide the books because I was not willing to contribute to the delinquency of a minor

Do I need to have Einstein's face/body or is just having the hair enough?

Nah. I know I'm intelligent, but lack the proper traditional education because I'm not going to pay that much for it. I watch the free stuff from MIT on YouTube and get the learning credits from VMware and Cisco for their learning libraries when we buy new UCS equipment and renew our ELA.

Being able to flex nuts about what I do know, what makes me money, does nothing for social interaction. There might be 2 people on Fark that even know what UCS is, what vCenter is, or what a systems engineer even does.

I've always seen myself as a nothing who came from nothing and by some miracle is able to sustain himself. fark egos. It won't get you anywhere but a golf course with other egotistical douchebags who know nothing about what their subordinates do.

Once again, I need to stop drinking and farking.

Interesting thread subby. I had a feeling it was VR  related my 2 cents if and when it gets combined with AI in the future it will be quite interesting.

A few years ago I want to a show/conf in NYC it had a lifelike head (just the head) of old Albert and it was showing off robotics, and the mask had actually bridged the uncanny valley (well... from my point in the audience of maybe 40 feet away). It had all facial features move properly.

This combined with AI you really could have some answers and talk to one of the great ones if you have that much faith in AI.
