Don't fall for it guys. All you'll end up with will be the Gen Z equivalent of piles of forgotten tamogotchis and empty soda bottles marketed on an image of cynical disregard. I don't know who this generation's Pauly Shore will be, but you'll hate him too and he'll be everywhere.

Young Adults are a demographic. Got it.

How soon before we can blame Generation Z for ruining everything? Asking for an early-Millennial friend.

Anyone who unironically uses the word 'woke' to mean 'enlightened' needs to stop.

Millennials were woke until recently too so...

Generation Z values the opinion of their peers more than spoon-fed marketing spiel from retailers and brands.

Good.
The great failure of Boomers was their willingness to accept any spoon-fed crap from corporate America.

ptelg: Millennials were woke until recently too so...

They're kind of irrelevant now.  They don't vote and they don't have money, so no one cares about them anymore.  They are convenient for blaming though, for the same reasons.

We were always irrelevant. We grew up being told we were the all-singing, all-dancing crap of the world. That's why we have a bunch of participant ribbons and nothing else. Ribbons are cheap, and cheap doesn't eat into the bottom line, so it's just as good.

Well, you have to get some sleep after spending 18 hours straight playing COD.

I am a late X-er or Oregon Trail kid and this is getting familiar

The new kids are smart and hungry, but like to do things a bit differently from the generation that preceded them? The hell you say!

When they get older, they will continue to act their age - just like every other generation does.

Now, we have the so-much-smarter Gen Z kids, who won't accept spoon-fed crap from retailers and brands, except for the spoon-fed crap they get from their friends, who got their spoon-fed crap from whatever the hot new Internet site is.

Anyone who says they're '"woke" should be ridiculed and ignored.

Researchers typically use the mid-1990s to mid-2000s as starting birth year for Gen Z

So I assume this huge, untapped market is for cheap beer and pizza, not luxury hotels and kitchen appliances

I look forward to all the Gen-Z articles about how they have discovered things that every generation has in the past like cooking and music.
Quickly followed by seeing Millennials jumping on board with the criticism and forgetting how they acted.

Fixed it further..  Catering to social media "influencers" is a VERY real thing, and calculated to produce this exact response.

(Case in point, at the new Levi's Tailor Shop at Nordstrom's first ever men's storein New York City, shoppers can co-design their jeans and trucker jackets.)

We truly deserve this Worst Timeline. One store, it's a trend how? One store that caters to the 1% of top earners in New York City. Complete nonsense.

/ Not a lot of truckers at Nordstrom's unless they're delivering or picking up.

I find the term 'woke" is an adapt term to use.
They are trying to cross the threshold from animal to human. And in their present state it seems right that it should only take about a 4 letter word to describe them.
And i do hope the keep working at it, one day they may need more letters.

In order to describe their state of, enlightenment. ;)

I've ignored millenials, why would they focus on Z?   Boomers have all the capital and as they die off it's being funneled to fewer and fewer people.  Why market to indentured servants?

Not sure why "I" got in there since I am a bitter millenial.
